I need a new dipping belt, I've been using a cheap one and it is on its last legs after training for several years with way more than the recommended max weight.

I'd like a belt that can take at least 120 kg. The belts I've been looking at are:

    1) Spud Inc belt, gets good reviews and is used by Steven Proto who has a Guinness WR for the heaviest weighted pullup. I haven't found a weight limit for this belt but I'd say it is more than good enough for me. There don't seem to be any EU distributors and having to bring it in from the US is a disadvantage

    2) Ironmind De Rigeur belt from Strengthshop UK. Uses a strap and buckle rather than a chain, weight capacity is apparently 1000 pounds  Belt is expensive though, 80 stg plus shipping.

    3) Strengthshop own brand dip belt, looks more like the Spud one but looks a bit more light duty. 40 Stg plus shipping. They recommend a max weight of 60 kg but I'd say it could comfortably handle a lot more than that

    4) Rogue dipping belt, looks good but the claim of it being rated at 24,200 pounds is marketing bullsh*t, even though the nylon part is undoubtedly very strong. 49 euros plus shipping from Rogue Fitness in Finland

Has anyone used any of the above belts. I have dealt with Strengthshop before and found them good has anyone dealt Rogue Fitness. I prefer the look of the Rogue belt but the marketing crap puts me off and pushes me towards the Strengthshop belt.

Have a gander at the video below,I just bought a decent chain from a hardware store and put it through some piping insulation. Cost less than a tenner and will outlast any high end dip belt on the market. I too had trouble with dip belts wearing out and breaking. I've been using mine for over two years and no probs, just make sure you get decent insulation or replace it every so often as the chain can sometimes dig in when using heavier loads
