Work out day, then stretch day

For years, I've been doing Pilates on a Thursday night - it's good for my back and my posture, and I can now get both legs around my head (ladies...!)

Anyway, I've recently started TRX and getting into that, but in the new year, that will be moving to Wednesday nights. I have an option of moving Pilates to Tuesday, but I can't quite figure out which would be best:

    1. Pilates on Tuesday, TRX on Wednesday, rest on Thursday or
    2. Rest on Tuesday, TRX on Wednesday, Pilates on Thursday

I'm usually wrecked on Thursdays after the TRX (if I've done it right), but perhaps an hour of stretching out the muscles I've worked 24 hours previously would be just what I need - on the other hand, I know I've got to give those muscles a chance to rebuild and recuperate.

    Any advice would be helpful.

going for brisk walk can be as good as stretching.

don't think about it too much.
try it one way the first week, then switch the following week. See which works best

Yeah, unfortunately, both classes have to be bought and paid for in chunks, 6 or 8 weeks.

ETA: Tks Bluewolf, I'm sorta leaning that way myself.

I do a Pilates class immediately after a TRX class. It can be tough. At least I get to lie down in Pilates.
I wouldn't fancy doing Pilates the day after though.

Yeah, it's that 24 hour gap is the problem I think. I feel great after TRX, slightly less great the next morning and stiff as a plank by hometime :D

do people equate stiffness as equaling a good workout?

    Only in bed.

I'd definitely go for option 1. I used to do a pilates class the day after TRX and if I could have swapped it I would have. If I were you, I'd do Pilates one day, TRX the next day, and then spend a good while stretching the next day.

Nothing against nice_guy80, but I'd really recommend you don't count walking as stretching. But it sounds like you already know yourself how important stretching is.
