Exactly what I was saying about Merson a couple of days ago...

    Tottenham v Burnley – Saturday, 3pm

Sky Sports' Paul Merson on Harry Kane
Believe it or not, I fancy Tottenham to win. I’ve come to a conclusion: every time I tip Spurs they lose and every time I say they’ll get beat they win, but I do fancy them this week. They’ve had two great results this week and they’ve hit a bit of a run – barring the Chelsea result.

    PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0

This throws the mojo out the window for me.

On a decent run of form and a smart manager, they will be well prepared for us. Tricky one, as ever an early goal vital.

I'd be fairly optimistic about this. Burnley have been pretty poor this season, and have joint worst goal difference, so we should knock a few past them. 3-0, with Kane, Eriksen and Soldado to score.

    Or we'll draw 1-1 in a terrible/scrappy game.

Yeah after wed night i am more optimistic. That kind of performance and result has to help the team.

    2-0

Ade is available for the game. Just saying, he's gonna be needed over the busy christmas period.

I'd rather play with no striker

If Kane gets injured, were fúcked.

    2-0 Tottenham.

I'd play Ade and rest Kane, bring him on after 60 if needed, games coming thick and fast now.

Na'h, Kane's on fire. It would be a huge error not to start him. But not for 90 minutes.

If we don't win this we can kiss any outside chance of CL goodbye. My starting XL

Lloris, Walker, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies, Stambouli, Bentalab, Eriksen, Lennon, Kane, Adebayor

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

#THFC Team: Lloris (c); Walker, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies; Bentaleb, Mason; Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli; Kane #COYS

Subs: Vorm, Chiriches, Rose, Dembele, Stambouli, Townsend, Soldado

Eriksen to run the show in his favored position.

Why does Soldado never start after scoring?

Problem is Pochettino has now settled that Eriksen has to play middle behind striker and Kane has to play. That leaves only one up front spot for Kane and Soldado pushed to bench.

I think he is right. It's our best formation and Chadli deserves to play too

Chadli's play alongside Kane's performances for me have probably been the highlights of the season.
Most of us had written him off on last years showings.

Ade to start?! Are you mad?! Does it not piss you off how he's making a mockery of our football club? That fella should never play for us again

Much happier with the Newcastle match and that fitst half. Still lots of problems but at least we are scoring and it's entertaining football. Very impressed with Lamella today, even ignoring the goal he's made some good runs and played in some good balls, also showed strength a few times.

What a pass from Eriksen to Chadli. Shame it didn't result in a goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,854 ✭✭✭Glebee

Just cant get that goal to put the game to bed..

Match winning save by Lloris. Got a little lucky in the end.

Utd are as bad as we are, 50 / 50 there.

    Another positive result ...delighted

Will our midfield be torn apart with mason injured and bentaleb going to Africa soon!!

upward momentum and I still think we play better away from home... so hoping for 3 points at Leicester.

This kinda optimism has a habit of biting us supporters in the ass but really looking forward to the United game now.

Good to get another three points today with a mostly good performance,Lamelas goal was like looking at Bale again,be great if we win again on Stevens day,I even think we will give UTD a game of it on Sunday.

Last time we played burnley at home in the league it was a noteworthy match in the spurs career of one Gareth Bale.
I'm hoping Lamelas first league goal now marks another watershed in a good spurs career. I just pray he kicks on now.

Lloris kicking needs some work. His distribution was awful.
Lamella actually looked like a player yesterday. Would be a massive bonus if he can turn things around.
