I wouldn't bother, everyone speaks English

I would think Spanish would be pretty good to learn. and that way if you were to travel you would. There are more Native Spanish speakers in the world.

It really depends what you are going to use it for.

Also only people from China and surrounding countries speak Chinese, are you planning to go there?

In my experience at least, if you can speak English, Russian and Spanish, you've got a reasonable percentage of the world's population covered in terms of being able to communicate right there...

German. They will happily speak to you in English. But when it comes to business, they expect German to be spoken. They have great respect for people trying to use German, even if its pretty ****. German is spoken in Europes strongest economies eg Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Austria and is a second language to a lot of Europeans

German. If you can shout at people in German you'll get a lot more done.

It is estimated that by 2050 there will be more than 750 million francophones. Mostly in Africa of course. But it's spoken much more widely than German, even within Europe.

When are you ever going to need Chinese in reality, do you plan on moving to China?

I'm learning Germany and Italian, for the simple reason I like learning languages and conversing in foreign languages.

A shouting German usually makes people require a change of underwear...

I speak German, comes in handy whenever one of them comes over to do something and everyone else runs for cover under a barrage of "Wass?es".

Would they describe it as talking scheiße?

The advice on this thread is terrible.

OP, you need to think about the foreign women you want to bang, and then use that as a starting point for potentially useful phrases to learn in whatever language it is that they speak.

Why isn't this stuff taught in schools?

Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic languages win in a landslide, so.

    English.

Honestly, you're probably better off learning to speak and write really good English than learning another language very poorly. That's unless you want to go into international business of some sort where you're expected to speak a second language, obviously.
