Physio or chiroprator?

    Hi all,
I've had back pain for a few years. I worked in a very physical job and wasn't lifting etc properly. I saw a physio about 4 years ago after a very bad back strain and he helped a lot but the pain didn't completely disappear, it was more of an everyday ache that i got used to. I hurt it badly again about a year ago and i saw a new physio who helped a lot too but i wasn't comfortable around him so i wont return to him. I haven't had much bad pain over the last few weeks but my hip and knee joints are getting more painful. I know that the arches aren't great and that's affecting my walk and joints etc. So would I go to a physio or a chiropractor to put my back 'in line' again? and can anyone suggest a good one too if they know of one.
    Thanks a lot

What part of Galway? City or county?

    Would you prefer female?

A good physio with lots of recommendations. There are some really bad ones out there - especially for back related problems.

If you are in Galway I suggest you go and talk to Kevin D'Arcy in Limitless Health.

Agreed on the chiro scammers - they will have you back (excuse the pun :-) week in, week out, just doing enough to get you right for a while and then waiting for you to return with the same problem shortly thereafter.

A good physio should be able to make a proper diagnosis of what's causing the recurring pain and set you up with treatment and an exercise regime that should keep you sorted.

Been there, done that and have not had any serious back pain in years now.

I believe Kelly Lee there comes well recommended as well...If the OP wants a female physio.

Just on the side of the chiro, theres a chiropractor in galway named shawn toner, in city chiropractic, its just off eyre square, ive been there twice when i had really really nasty running injuries and he sorted them out really well.
Similarly i recommended him to another friend who had serious problems with scar tissue and terrible pain in their legs and he sorted it out for them too. Really really impressed by the service

Edit: i meant to add he also gave me some excercise suggestions to help with what i had and ive never had any trouble again with that problem. He was really knowledgable and really took interest in sorting out my injuries and making sure i didnt get it again, giving me advice about prevention for the future

Thanks a million for all the help :)
Im in Galway county but only half hour from city. I don't mind if its a male or female physio, the last guy i went to just made odd comments so i'm not going to return to him.
Ill look up Limitless Health right now. Sounds good.
Shawn Toner was actually the one chiro i could find anywhere that i had considered going to so nice to hear he's good in case i ever go the chiro route.
    Thanks everyone

Limitless is in Bohermore so it's only a 5 minute walk or so from Eyre Square.

Bailey Point Physio in Salthill are another good crowd apparently if that side of the city suited you better
