    I worked in a few different vet practices and you do see the same names quite a lot. Bailey is common for labradors, small toy breeds might have little girlie names like Molly or Ruby or things like that. Charlie is another popular one. Cat owners are often more original, a friend of mine called hers Paxo after Jeremy Paxman which I love.

    Boxer frank (Bruno ) coz he's a boxer and people call dogs Bruno
    Lab harvey (Norman ) coz he's hyper and the harvey Norman ads are hyper
    Staffie daisy cos the staffie in snatch was called daisy (although that was a boy and my daisy is a girl)

    That's true. I know people who have called their cats, variously, Jupiter, Maureen :D, Brian :D:D. When I was about 11 I had a cat called Fang. My current cat is called Murphy.

    There was a study done on the most popular names of cats & dogs in Ireland. seventy thousand pets surveyed. I cant post the link here for some reason but it is list on JustCats vet Clinic Website and also on Ray Darcys page on today FM - at least until he left!
    Kitty - Tiger - Fluffy - Molly - Tigger - were the top 5 cats names
    Molly - Max - Charlie - Jessie - Holly were the top 5 dogs names
