News agencies reporting an armed siege in a Sydney cafe. There are some reports that staff have been seen holding an Islamic state flag

    http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/live/2014/dec/15/sydney-siege-reports-of-hostage-situation-inside-martin-place-cafe-live

MOD NOTE: You can feel however you want about religion or groups of people, for whatever reasons you choose. What you can’t do is come on to Boards and start spouting hate speeches, labelling all members of religions/ethnicities etc with negative stereotypes just because you can’t be arsed telling different people apart. This goes for implying all Muslims are foreign terrorist, all Catholics are paedophiles, all Atheist are antagonistic keyboard warriors, all mods aren’t extraordinarily good looking, or whatever your particular prejudice happens to be.

And before anyone decides to go on a rant about Boards having some liberal agenda/being fascist etc, please remember that:

    1. You can be conservative and not racist
    2. There’s a Feedback forum for your complaints.

I hope the hostages overpower their captors, then rip their spines out through their arseholes, especially if they have any affiliation to IS.

What I'm thinking. The best course of action would be for the 20 hostages to stop the two gunmen

I am sick and tired of these muslim extremists using aggression and violence against liberal, tolerant societies that they have been allowed to live in.

Get the impression this may be bigger than the Lindt cafe which in itself is a very worrying situation.

Has Paul Gascoigne shown up yet?

This is fcuking disgusting. These Islamic fundamentalists are a scourge on the human race but worryingly their numbers are growing. I feel absolutely helpless for the poor hostages given what we know about how IS operate. So terrifiying.:(

I know IS thrive out of this publicity and instilling terror into peoples homes through media. Should we really be looking at media blackouts in these type of situations? Nearly impossible with social media.

Sky News are taking a live feed from an Australian News station and they just reported it. Hopefully just bluster to spook the police.

Was worried when I first heard it because I've family that owns a cafe in Sydney.

It's horrible but I can't say I'm optimistic knowing it's apparently ISIS involved. Even if all the hostages survive, this will have lots of negative consequences but if all the hostages are executed it will cause chaos.

Fuk religion, man. Stupid fuking kunts.

These scumbags better not blow up the Opera House.

Damn. Why is there no Lindt cafes in Ireland?

Poor old Aussies never harmed anyone.

The only negative consequences will be on the Muslim community.

It's always the Muslims. Always. At what point do we have to stop being so politically correct? Probably given a better life in Australia than their home country and this is what they do. The people doing this are utter scum.

Muslim isn't a race. I'm sure there are many white Australian muslims as well.

I think the western world is coming to a breaking point with this religion, it is simply incompatible with a civilised society.

Maybe one of the hostages is a cook. But he's not all that he seems.

Channel 9 news reporting the captors want to speak to the Australian PM Tony Abbott live on air. They also showed hazy images of a lad with a black headscarf seen through the window.

I didn't say anything about them being a race?

Anyway, hardly a bunch of atheists inside the cafe threatening to slit people's throats, my point was that's it's always Muslims that do this sort of thing.

Hopefully this ends well with the Australian SAS handing out a good beating to those idiots who took over the cafe.

Do keep in mind this is the minority of the religion. There are over 1 billion Muslims worldwide.

With that said, these psychos in particular need to be taken out.

I await the usual Boards Muslim sympathisers to turn up and defend these so called minorities,

Theres no denying it, its backwards as fook. A few hundred years behind western society. It is simply incompatible with how we live in the western world.
