    ...on the log in screen?

Updated the software on my tablet the other day, so had to re enter my name and PW on the home screen, and was greeted by a field of sheep, thought it was just something on mobile devices. Untill I seen the same field and sheep when re logging in on my laptop.

    What gives boards?

Apparently Dav has a, shall we say, idiosyncratic view of the concept of animal husbandry.

Maybe they are trailing sheep instead of gerbals.

Well as most of you are probably aware, traditionally the boards.ie servers were powered by hamsters running around inside little wheels. They were cheap to feed and purchase.

However, as boards.ie has become more popular, the poor little hamsters just couldn't keep up. Something had to be done. After much deliberation the decision was made to replace them with sheep that walk on these threadmill-like machines that can generate far more power. As a bonus, the sheep's wool can be sheared and sold which then pays for Dav's salary.

It's been a great success so far. No doubt you have noticed the increased speed at which threads open now, and searching is almost as fast as with Google (who luckily can afford goats instead of sheep).

It's just another example of the managements dedication to all of us.
    Thank you management!
