At the risk of incurring the wrath of o/u gun owners. This is the model I own,the AYA no. 2 round action, wouldn't swop it for all the o/u guns in the world.Try one and see the difference, light, superbly balanced, sweet shooting, natural pointability, the original game gun design, never improved on,no gun beats the side by side for game shooting.

That's not a round action, it's a regular No.2. Great gun, built from the mid 1960's as a direct copy of the Holland & Holland "Royal". The round action incorporates some modifications copied from Boss and is about £5k stg. new and I've never seen one over here; your mate's XXV is also a great gun, fantastic on snipe and woodcock although some find it too "whippy".

@useurowname - Tell dealers you are in the market for a No.2, they are around, Pat McCormack or Neil McVeigh might gave one - usually they can be had for under €2k over here because SxS are not "fashionable" Too many dealers wont take them in because they are harder to shift.

Cheers mate. Just to check, does Neil McVeigh still have the shop in Monkstown?

Beg to differ, this pic is directly from AYA's own website and described as a no.2 round action

NMcV is still in Monkstown, topped up with some cartridges from him recently. 01 2808988.

Here is a review of the round action - the de-luxe RA model which is essentially the same as the 'ordinary' RA but has fancier engraving/wood. If you compare the photo you posted with the ones in the review - particularly the ones looking down from above on the lever & safety - you will notice the thickness of the wood in the wrist and it is more 'square' than round - the photo you posted from the AyA site has more wood there, although it is hard to tell from that photo. Post one of your own gun.:)

I use a fabarm sporter with Remington no 5 and eley 6 in the lower barrel I believe I shoot better with these cartridge however I was gifted a benelli montefeltro lately and use the same cartridges in no particular order and am shooting better than ever.it would be interesting to shoot with cartridges with the name blacked out just to see if there is any difference to your shooting as an experiment .I know patterns may be different but the cartridge could be the same as usual so long as the shooter did not know the name of the cartridge. this is just an idea to see how much of cartridge selection is in your head.

Magnificent gun, far nicer than the one in the photo you posted from the AyA advert and clearly a round action, deluxe model. I love the arcaded fences and the gold inlay on the cocking indicator. Class! (And nobody has bodged the screws with an incorrectly sized turnscrew.:)). Bet you get people saying that it is too good to bring out in wet weather! One of mine (not AyA) is posted here to make Tac smile.
