Tiredness and yawning - help?

    Hi

I have a query relating to energy and tiredness.

Basically, I am 31 and have made a decision recently to increase my fitness, reduce my body fat and tone up. I am not overweight but I would have a bodyfat % higher than I would like. I am currently swimming 1500m 4 days a week and I plan to start introducing some weightlifting exercises into my fitness routine over the next few weeks.

The biggest issue I have is that I find myself yawning an awful lot during the day even after a good night sleep. I wound;t say I’m very tired as I can do swim for 40 minutes non-stop at the end of the day. Yawning and morning tiredness has always been an issue for me. I am trying to improve my diet at the moment. Until now I have eaten large portions and not been too concerned with the fat content in food I eat. I am aware of what is healthy but I do have my fair share of carbs. Having said that I do eat nutritious food and eat plenty of veg, fruit and drink lots of water.

I would really like to increase my energy levels and not suffer from uncontrollable yawning every morning in work. I think it may have something to do with my diet but I’m not sure. I drink coffee to counteract the yawning but I don’t think that is the solution.

Are there any supplements that can help with this or do people have an idea of what might be causing me to yawn so much?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you think it's to do with your diet you should let us know what exactly your diet is like and maybe rough idea of calorie intake
How many hours a night do you sleep

When I am excessively tired its often because I am dehydrated.

You've just got back to more rigorous exercise recently, your body is tired because of this but it will get used to it. There might be something in your diet, you say you drink plenty of water so I'd say it's just your body adjusting.

Obvious question, but, how many hours of sleep a night do you get, on average?
