I was about to pull the trigger on a New 3DS from Amazon.fr at 175 posted then I figured I'd just buy it from Smyth's at launch, along with Zelda.
Altogether it works out at a 30 odd euro difference between b&m and Amazon.

Ok, so I preordered a white n3ds in gamestop. €200, but had a 40 voucher so technically I'm paying €160. Happy with that.

The xl is 240, very expensive for an upgrade. And the Majora's Mask n3dsxl is €280 WITHOUT the game(?) as I asked. Total rip if true.

So cancelled my Nintendo store pre-order, but at least I get the system on Launch day.

It's €270 with the game as a download when I asked in Limerick earlier.

I think its possible they don't know for certain yet, so different people are told different prices.

    Nope, not true.
The game is confirmed to be released along with the New 3DS and Monster Hunter 4 on the 13th of Feb

    Intresting little video

haven't watched it, but it's probably regionthree, which uses the 3ds' browser (spider), which is a different browser to the one in the new 3ds.

Anyone what has a n3ds, am I going mad or when I look at my console does it look like the top screen is going to warp?

Forgive my complete newbie ignorance but ive been gaming for 20 years and Ive never owned a Nintendo device (Atari 2600 to Mega Drive to PS) so im picking up a 3DS XL next month primarily to play games like Mario and Zelda, games that my friends used to play but I never did. I want a portable so its the 3DS for me.

Can I play the old NES and SNES classics like Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda on it? Apologies for such a basic question im completely new to Nintendo :(

You can download them from the e-shop. €5 each.

You can download the old NES classics on the 3DS, unfortunately not the SNES ones.

I might suggest, for the proper experience of SNES/NES games, to buy a SNES and a NES!
The games aren't too expensive and a slow and steady pick up of favourite titles will mean, in a short while you'll have a cracking collection.
A SNES and a copy of Super Mario World and Super Mario All stars should be your first port of call.
Check in with the Arcade and Retro forum for more lovely discussion of classic consoles!

Aww, Nintendo cancelled my MM SE order this morning :(

So I ordered from Amazon France. €55 including post which works out cheaper than what the Nintendo store was asking for.

Also, I got Metal Gear, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon from CEX for €28 yesterday. Can't wait to try MGS

many of the best SNES games (and Wii too) are available on the Wii u eshop. the Wii u is a handheld/full console type hybrid and much cheaper than the ps4 and Xbox one as are the retail games. All of the retro games are playable on the handheld within range of the console and many of the newer retail ones are too. It might suit you better than a 3ds.

There will be another region/cfw exploit released in the near future

One that works on all systems properly

    Feck it
    I went mad.
Bought a New 3DS on Amazon.fr for 158 with next day shipping of another 15, still 20 cheaper than here.
I'll pick up Majoras Mask that morning too.
Too good a deal to pass up.

In a moment of MADNESS, I've preordered Monster Hunter 4. Hope I like it. So that a lot of money going out on Friday the 13th!

On another note, with the n3ds coming, I think I'll prob be playing more 3ds games this year. So, off the top of your heads, what sleeper hits games (mainly) on cartridge would you guys recommend that would have been released but went straight under the radar? I have the Mario's and zeldas and kirbys :)

Any issues with ordering from .fr? Presumably the manuals are all multi-lingual these days. I have €20 down on the XL MM edition in Gamestop but looking at the new 3DS, MM game and some covers im saving a ton of money compared to €270 for the Zelda edition in the XL. God dammit..decisions decisions..

Very tempted to get this now and go with the 5 euro delivery.

I always look at all the other amazon's when I'm buying.
I believe one of my launch 3ds consoles came from amazon.fr
