Maybe there is already a thread on this, but I can't seem to see it.

On Lidl's website they are giving away vouchers for something for free every day of Advent. I've gotten a mince pie, a cookie and a chocolate Santa so far anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,404 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

How is it working? I went throught the link, I clicked on Number 8 on the advent tree and it brought me to a competition which I entered.

    Where are the vouchers ?

Some days the freebie is Christmas tips or jokes, not a product.

think we're all waiting for the big offers from Dunnes starting on Saturday.

That's good to hear as I nearly caused a melt-down from the staff a couple of days back as some of them hadn't even known about the event yet :D

They still don't in Thomas St, D8! I had a Q building up behind me and I kept saying to them to forget about it...they said no, kept scanning it but it turned out they had yet to scan the Santa itself:confused:
So all worked in the end...but the staff had no idea

They entered code on coupon manually for me !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 902 ✭✭✭Dontfadeaway

I'm guessing not many people know about it because staff here didn't.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,374 ✭✭✭leck

No problem using one today in Castlebar. Cashier had a barcode on a piece of paper which she scanned. She said didn't need the physical coupons. She tore them and threw in the bin. I presume coupon on the mobile app would work equally well. Printing the coupon was frustrating for me - first page wouldn't load in Firefox, then finally was able to pull coupon up from link in confirmation email but had to save the image, then insert into a Word doc in order to print.

    Thanks OP.

A roast potato recipe? Seriously? Does it involve roasting the potato by any chance? A lump of coal would be more Christmas-y and useful. Thanks for the spoilers anyway Staticnoise I can uninstall the app and not bother with this anymore...

:D You'd been even more disappointed if you'd been in on the Arnotts Christmas giveaways last year. Every day there were seriously great gifts on offer: pearl earrings/Irish made scarves/Elizabeth Arden make-up/children's coats even one day. Alas....them says are gone and the Lidl malarkey is a very poor replacement lol!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,439 ✭✭✭StaticNoise

Yeah. I had that Arnotts app and I always got ready to rush in... But they were gone in seconds.

Where did u get this list from ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,121 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

Staticnoise posted it on the previous page. Thought it was a bit odd that they'd give away a 20% off coupon for the Santa a couple of days after giving the Santa away for free! Must be some other freebie list for the UK or something...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,439 ✭✭✭StaticNoise

My list was curated by some tomfoolery on the Lidl websites with regard to the URLs.

Had to hop on the bike when I heard about the ceramic dishes :D

They look nice enough, should get away with using one as a meal for one with chips and a bit of veg. Girl hadnt heard of the deal but she tapped in the barcode from the screen on my phone and it went through no bother.
