This Dell or alternative?

    Thinking of this http://www.dell.com/ie/p/inspiron-17-5748-laptop/pd?oc=cn74822&model_id=inspiron-17-5748-laptop for the missus for Christmas.

    It's at the upper end of the budget. Been looking around a few different places but keep coming back to the dell. Anyone any suggestions for alternatives? Doesn't necessarily have to be 17" . Was looking at a couple of the 13.3" ones that can fold effectively to a tablet cos she uses it in bed so might make them more usable.

    It's just for general bit of everything use.
