You'd have to start at 18 and have one per day until your early 80s and take absolutely no holidays. Assuming a couple of weeks here and there with the flu or sexual fatigue injuries you'd probably need to keep going well into your 90s, if the artificial hips could take it!

1. Nobody's got the energy for that particularly OAPs
2. People tend to form relationships so, it would be the same person lots of times.
3. Nobody is THAT good at picking up sexual partners.

I'd suggest this guy's at the very least not a maths/stats wizard and has an over active imagination !

It is probably more lazy than stupid.

Something we know about people I think - is that when they have an opinion they will latch onto statistics that support that opinion - and ignore ones that do not. And rarely do they do _anything_ to verify the statistics at all. It is enough that they agree with the persons point of view.

This thread is just an extreme example of this. The man is so biased against homosexuality than the moment he saw a statistic against it - he latched on to it. He likely did not even pause to do the maths to reality check the statistic - let alone verify it's authenticity in any way.

Claiming gay people have 20,000 partners is not going to sway anyone who is not anti homosexual. It will likely push people on the fence over the far side to him. And it will probably make people who already share his bigotry froth at the mouth and nod in ignorant agreement.

No story here really.

If one gay person has 20,000 partners and pulling figures out of my ass (no pun) lets say only 10000 overlap that would make 30000 for 2 gay people. 32 gay people = about a million sexual partners. Which means the whole world is gay.
