Anyone following Italian football this weather? 3 matches in Serie A tonight but I'll be damned if I know the form of any of the teams involved.
Is betting on Serie A games best avoided like the plague or are teams following any sort of form at all?

It's no different to betting on any other league but people like to b**ch and moan when they lose on it even though they shouldn't back leagues they don't follow.

Would expect wins for Fiorentina and Lazio and a draw in the Roma-Sampdoria game as Roma are off form and Sampdoria have had a good season.

avoid it like the plague imo esp teams at short odds, you'll end up broke
inter 1/3 last night, the worst team in europe for me bettingwise
roma odds on in 3 of last 4 (1/4 v parma)
the likes of cesena drawing with juve (1/4)

plenty burned here lately with roma also and them odds on again tonite (cue a 2-0 now:pac:

Roma's last home win was back in November and they've drawn their last four in a row in the league so another draw looks tempting to me.

Yet Roma are still second in the table! This really shows how the quality of Italian football has plummeted in the last 10 years or so. And what the hell has happened to AC Milan??
The once kings of Europe are now languishing in mid table and they will probably fail to make it to the Champions League next season.

Think that Swansea v Liverpool will see +2.5 goals tonight so will be taking the evens on offer. Even though it's Monday night footie they have delivered 6/7 of recent meetings. Pool are much improved defensively but still fancy this.

Same as Mailburner will be looking at Shelvey for bets tonight. he's a one man pantomime in this meeting. he doesn't seem to get booked much in it but has been on the score sheet, an own goal once too.

Worth noting that the ref tonight is usually a fourth official, however when he has been ref he has dished 3 reds in the last four games he took charge. One of these was the red in the Bolton v Liverpool FA cup game.

    Shelvey anytime 5/1
    Shelvey first 14/1
    Shelvey first, Liverpool 2-1 120/1
    Shelvey anytime, Liverpool 2-1 60/1

    Fun bets

Zwolle has a good team out with Nijland amongst others (scored a 20 minute hat trick last week for the first team at home to cambuur)
Saw the groningen team and looked decent as well
Willem II just does well in that league

Most convinced about Zwolle though. Dordrechts 11 doesnt look as strong as what they had last week.

Keep stakes small because results in those leagues are a pain to bet on.

Went fairly big, by my standards, on a Liverpool win.

Seemed generous at 21/20 considering the form Liverpool are in right now. Wonder what the bookies know?

hate betting on liverpool, always get stung by them,

going to have a few quid on sampdoria @6/1

    and dbl chance @ 13/10

i reckon roma will be more focused on their big game on thursday against fiorentina in the europa and that they have already conceded the title already at this stage of the season, 14 points behind juve, can see a few fringe players getting a run out tonight,

sampdoria have been having a decent season as of late and are well capable of an upset, getting good results through the season against some of the top teams, the reverse fixture was 0-0. heres hoping :)

Liverpool win/Roma Sampdoria draw double @ 7.2 looks like there could be a bit of value in it

Skrtel had a good history of getting cards and got some in this fixture before.

Taken Skrtel card @4.00 on Unibet

Keeping with the Shelvey thoughts earlier taken Shelvey to hit the post or crossbar @17.00 on Unibet

Shelvey in the previous game v Liverpool gave one of the worst performances I've ever seen. Is he a Liverpool fan? Could be wrong but I wouldn't go near him to score based on that

    Coutinho wincast @ 6/1

Also Neil Taylor to be booked @ 23/10 Sterling should give him a tough game.

He still feels hard done by, when Liverpool sold him. Generally speaking, he either scores against pool or gets yellow / red.

Guessing i'm the only one on Swansea DC 5/6

Swansea only lost 2 at home in last 8. Chelsea and Spurs.

Liverpool havn't looked great lately but have been grinding out results. Last 3 H2H has seen Swansea +1 come in.

Edit: Also small on G Sigurdsson AT @ 4/1

Edit Edit: Also On Shelvey AT booking 13/8

My thoughts on the game are a goalfest - but I have no had a win in a while

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 93 ✭✭LikeTheseOdds

Decided to take a punt and put on the following. Word of warning thought Shelvey seems to be subbed off a lot around the 70th minute when he starts so this could easily ruin these bets. Decided to put 50c on the red card for no other reason than the last time I bet on this market it came up with J.Barton and I regretted looking at the red and not putting it on haha. Other's a euro each, just for fun.

    J.Shelvey To be booked @ 13/8
J.Shelvey First player to be shown a card @ 10/1
    J.Shelvey Red Card 22/1

    All with PP.

    I settled on...

Liverpool to Score 2 or more First Half Goals @ 5.50

Had success with this last season, worth a shot IMO. Hope Pool try to get the job done early
