I never get this attitude. I paid X new people are getting it at Y I'm throwing my toys out of the pram. Everyone paid the price you did at the start of the season, guess why? It was the start of the season. People signing up during the sale will have 12 months including time when the season is over.

    Thanks for the alert though.

OFFER IS NOT AVAILABLE TO CURRENT CUSTOMERS

Wonder is there anyway to get around the terms and cancel before the offer comes into play on Thurs

Look it at another way, if it had gone up to €300, would you pay them the extra?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,671 ✭✭✭jay0109

    Is this with Sky only?

This deal is for Sky/satellite only. Has anyone had any luck in getting a discount rate from UPC?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 215 ✭✭glog

    FYI
I am an existing customer (€9.99 deal) and i just called Setanta. They gave me the €99 deal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 498 ✭✭badker

I rang up there to cancel was on 9.99 deal and got offered the 12.99 deal. She said there was no 9.99 deal anymore. I told her about yearly €99 and she offered me that. I cancelled it do as wouldn't have cash before Christmas.

So they are actually giving it to existing customer then? That's cool. I wonder how serious they are about the 1000 limit.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

I'd say they'd be delighted to hit it and extatic to exceed it

    Oh cheers OP.

Whats the big deal here apart from the 2nd rate string of Premiership matches they show? What other sporting events to these guys cover.

I have a month and a bit left at €9.99.

When I rang, I was told no. I asked CS to check with boss who said yes. Took effect immediately - cut off automatically after 12 months.

Will need to ring beforehand, to discuss terms I suppose. :)

You get BT1 and 2, Setanta 1 and 2 and ESPN. I don't think it's worth 21.99 per month, but I think this is a good deal and have gone for it.

Its not effecting me but some people signed up for 12 months at start of season for €199. A few months later dropped to €99. I wouldn't be a happy camper. They are saying its for new customers only but I could have taken it today. I reckon its worth the 9.99 a month but at top rate of 21.99 its not.

Are setanta and BT guaranteed the same amount of Premier league matches next season? also what happens if company folds? and this close to xmas people have other priorities.

I think they have the same amount of Premier League games next season. BT will also have the Champions League too, right?

They are a business and can see the cash cow this would be as an Xmas pressie. Some people pay €10 a month others pay higher. Caveat emptor

Great deal for NRL fans, only place you can watch it at present. Might splash out myself.

    hmmm... hadn't thought of that.

Aren't they just picking up the same package as what Sky have had since whenever?

I currently don't have a tv subscription. I just get the free-to-air channels through the Sky box(no subscription).
I would need to sign up with Sky in order to get this, right?

No,all you need is a Sky Card. Setanta will activate that for their channels only. You give Setanta the card number & they'll activate it.

Just signed up for this online for the old man. Anyone know how long before the channels become accessible?

Generally all come on within 30 mins.

If it's >2 hours or so without them coming on, I'd give them a ring.

Before calling them you could also try plugging out your box from power for a minute then power back up and test it

Picture quality on Setanta (Satellite) has improved a good bit in the last year ,its far better than it was before.
Its better than Sky Sports SD.

Never watched Setanta, only interested in football on BT

The other night when I got connected, there was a blank screen on BT for the Celtic match.....but it was being shown on Setanta.....rights issue I presume. But you might find yourself watching Setanta after all.

Tried the €99 link there, just took me to the subscription page and asked did I want to pay 21.99 a month, or a once off fee of 199.00
Is the offer over or do I need to ring them does anyone know?
