Atrocious Traffic

Anyone else stuck in unbelievably bad traffic this evening?

It's taken me 2 hours to get from Thomas Street in Dublin city centre to Baggot Street. It's much worse than the usual rush hour. Maybe Xmas shopping is adding to the woeful situation?

I presume that if the traffic is really bad in Dublin it'll be bad in Cork, Limerick, Galway and other places. Do they still do Operation Freeflow in the run up to Christmas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81,220 ✭✭✭✭biko

Galway's even worse, worst in fact.
    fact.

You could have driven to Galway in two hours.
Might have been a better option.

Answer the question yourself, OP. Aren't you 'traffic' too?

Absolutely not a jam. There's egg in curd!

Least prolly did very little damage driving over potholes so slowly.

I found it unusually light through Christchurch, Broadstone and on out to Finglas, around 5pm.

Very little traffic here in my living room

Dog was stuck behind the cat alright as he was rubbing his ass off the door frame but she got past and managed to get her biscuit

Thank god. That could've ended in disaster and your man complaining about sitting in a car for a while.

On a Friday, it's a damn sight better than getting past the Red Cow on the M50.

I'd sooner drive through Calcutta than drive through Dublin. As a simple culchie I find Dublin roads very daunting and confusing things altogether.

I loved it. Never got home so fast on my bicycle slaloming through the "car park". More days like this please.

A bit blunt, no? I'll have you know LizT (if that's even your real name!!) that your CMod status carries no extra weight on the subject of condiments.

Go ahead. Ban me. I don't care. It had to be said.

Eventually got home at 6.45pm. That's two hours and 15mins to travel 5 miles (8 kilometres). Disaster. And not a word of the traffic in town on the radio!

Apparently there were a number of car crashes today that caused huge tailbacks. I saw an accident scene in Donnybrook involving a motorbike. Hope nobody was seriously injured.

Blackberry jam made with blackberries wot you picked yourself.

That's the best kind of jam there is.

Man I wish I had some bread. Oh well, I guess this spoon will do.
