I get that they are the best rowers but it's possible that it will get less than an hours use some weeks. Just want to get an idea of the options

Nothing is going to be good value if it's not gonna be used.

Yes but it's either push for an excellent 1000 euro rower or end up with a 5 grand thredmill, this is the stupidity I am trying to deal with.

    I know what you mean.

But...get a rubbish rowing machine and it will be used even less than a Concept 2.

Is the stupidity at club admin level?

Country parish = certain people need to feel in charge of everything. They will prob end up buying from argos

But if there was a nice concept 2 rower then I could use it :)

In many ways the GAA can seem progressive.

And then you go to a small club...

Get yerself a book of evidence. A portfolio of positivity and efficacity with regards the erg.

All major rugby teams use them, a lot and their training plans are readily available, crossfitters love 'em etc.

Cardio and 'power' gains are super obvious, recordable and readable over time, shouldn't be too hard to convince a reasonably minded person of the usefulness of a low impact, whole body, high fitness gains truth machine.

I'd have better luck bribing them with a sheep.

You're describing a book of voodoo.

Unless you get a club whose senior team where the players know what's what and some of those player have the managements' ear

Couple of clubs in my home county have v well equipped gyms. Ergs included. I've heard there is even a couple wattbikes to be had.

County team still ****e mind you.

The problem is the decision makers. A club down home were in a Leinster club semi a couple of weeks ago. The team that went out still had a couple of lads in it that get on well with the selectors rather than the best players. In a Leinster semi.

It's morons like that who decide treadmills are essential.
