    That was just mean.........

    Mea culpa....

In fairness, I have just frightened the bejasus out of myself by googling 'locked hip' and am trying to banish the thought of 'labral tear'....

Time to put the hypochondriasm to bed, and not just tonight!

Well? Too early for news? I hope you had a fantastic race.

Tx all, 1:33:44 gun time, no official chip time but watch stopped at 1:33:34 so here's hoping.
18th female o/a, 7th in cat, bang on where hoped to be :)

Over the moon with the time (7.5 min PB) but not so pleased with the effort levels, it started to hurt much earlier than I hoped.

    Brief synopsis:

Mile 1 7:08 thought 'perfect' but wet road surface and new racers quite slippy :(

Mile 2 hmmm not as comfortable as I would have hoped but ok. Club pacer by my side great confidence boost, very relaxed.

    Mile 4 hmmm

    Mile 5 hmmm

Mile 6 hmmm but these last few miles taught me a lot about racing: my clubmate is a master at the reel em in game. Overall throughout the race, passed way more than passed me/us.

    Mile 7 ouch

Mile8 started to lose my pacer here :o

Epiphany by mile 9, remembered my own advice and did a good bit of mental HTFU

    Mile 10 ouch

    Mile 11 treacle legs

Mile 12 leaden treacle legs, passed by Tipping

Mile 13 thank the bloody ****

Mile 13.1 dry heave, didn't get Tipping ah well :D

So more work to do but a very satisfying benchmark mid/end base building.

Other clubmates did fantastically well too, time and position. My training mate ran 1:25:xx and beat Sonia O'Sullivan

Well done A. Let me get this straight - 7.5 minute pb, in or around the time you were hoping for, gutting it out even if it felt tough - sounds like a satisfying result to me!! Enjoy the positives and take what you feel you can improve on into the next cycle between you and coachy :) safe travels home.

PB wohoo, well done! To me that reads like a well run race with maximum effort...if it's too easy you ain't trying hard enough!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,016 ✭✭✭jake1970

Well done DG!!! Congrats on a massive new PB.

Cracking result, sounds like you gave it the right effort.
