    I'd concur, its likely cotoneaster.
    Incidentally although rarely found in large sizes, cotoneaster wood is beautiful to work, looks good, takes a fine finish, i made a bodhrán frame from some once and it was a lovely tone wood too.
    lovely stuff to turn also for those who like that sort of thing

    definatly Cotoneaster but not sure which one. Some of the ones from china have very big leaves and can make quite large trees.
    A good tip if you are planting one of these is to cut it back well in the first year or two to help it develop a good root system as they tend to be prone to keeling over because all the growth is above ground, rather like Eucalyptus.
