Can anyone recommend a good pair of runners?

    Budget is about €100.

Mainly for use in the gym so for Weights / Threadmill / Spinning

Probably use them for walking / jogging to gym also (5km)

    Thanks :)

If you're in dublin go to runways on parnell st to get a gait analysis for jogging with. they should come in around 100
i hear good things about amphibian king also

Depends what kind of weights you do and the running.

I would use different runners for running than I would doing weights but if you like minimalist shoes, something like the Nike Free would be good.

Edit: also, what bluiewolf said about the gait analysis if a lot of your time is running.

Yeah sorry it depends on if you're going to do a lot of running
I use a different pair for walking&weights than my jogging ones (unless I'm planning both weights and jogging in the same session in which case I will just use the jogging ones and hope I'm not wrecking them), but they'd tear my feet to shreds if i tried jogging in them

Does it really matter that much if you wear your running shoes for weights

It depends on what you're doing but if you're doing squats, for example, running shoes with a big cushioned sole are the last thing you want to have on your feet.

running shoes are usually designed to be soft and squidgy. which absorbs the shock of your body weight as you run.

This squidgyness is a bad idea for weights as it gives an unstable platform to lift from. which can lead to injury. the last thing you want is the base youre standing on to be moving with a weight on your back. Shoes for lifting weights are hard and non-compressive.

Some of the "better" shoes for lifting weights are converse all stars, cost about 30 euro or less for a copy pair.

    Thanks.

I will check out runways tomorrow if I can get up to it.

I was looking at Nike Free but not sure what I should be looking at.

I won't be running too much, it's just a good pair of gym trainers that I will use getting to and from there.

I think your choice should be based on a shoe that is correct for running, as you mention running to the gym, and on a treadmill. If you are doing a lot of weights and the shoes are an issue, ie very cushioned, consider getting a second pair just for that. The wrong shoes when running will cause you issues. I cant speak much for the wrong shoes when lifting as its not my area. I do kettlebells barefoot.
