Robert Downey Jr's latest role sees him play a disgruntled commuter stuck in traffic everyday only to constantly hit a run of green lights one morning when he's already late.

Define irony? A bunch of idiots dancing, on a plane, to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash.

Sympathies to the family, but is this Ironic or what!
It's not though. It's the same irony Alanis got wrong, which is easy to do tbh since she kinda redefined it.
Irony is generally a verbal thing, sometimes confused with sarcasm.

edit, that said may I have it wrong but then we can define irony together :)

Getting run over by an Ambulance.

I ran myself over with an ambulance once. Well, my foot, I was pushing the ambulance backwards with the front wheels on full lock, ran over my foot. Big toenail came off in my sock.

The only ironic thing about Alanis's song was that none of the things she talks about are ironic. It's possible she knew this all along and it was a stroke of genius thus making it ironic for people to make fun of the song for not understanding irony
