With all the conflicting information that's out there regarding what really effects cholesterol and what blood readings really mean, where is a good starting point to begin learning?
I listened to a fair few rob wolf podcasts and he can vanish very quickly down terminology rabbit holes leaving you lost. He also beats the keto and saturated fat drum yet the likes of starrett says he himself is unable to metabolise saturated fat as easily as other people can.
Is there anyone out there that has qualifications up to their eyeballs and has a balanced non agenda driven outlook?

I did a research project that had to do with cholesterol for my undergraduate degree. To be honest with you there's conflicting information out there in the literature, and it's because the processes leading to atherosclerosis (plaque build up in arteries) are not fully understood.

Most of the cholesterol in one's body is produced in the liver, and controlled by hormones, so diet will only ever have a limited effect. I think that genetics have a huge role to play in this as there is a huge amount of variance between people in terms of base cholesterol levels and tolerance to various hdl:ldl ratios.

The basic info out there on cholesterol and what organisations like the american heart association advise is good advice, but it's not a one-size fits all issue IMO.
