    Alright lads,

Looking for a bit of help. Have a tv and am currently receiving the Saorview channels in the apartment. However, if i scan using my tv i can put up Setanta ireland channel and a load of scrambled english channels.

If i were to get a Freeview box and plug it in, would i get all the english channels too?

Sorry for the broad explanation. Not into all this stuff. Give me a PC anyday.

No. Channels on Freeview aren't encrypted. Freeview is only available with an aerial pointing at a Freeview transmitter in NI or Wales and you're within the coverage area.

Are you getting all these Saorview TV and radio channels, http://www.saorview.ie/what-is-saorview/?

Where are you located? If in Dublin are you connected to the UPC cable network and receiving these analogue channels, http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=88414136#post88414136?

The UPC network also carries a few DVB-C digital channels unencrypted but mostly these digital cable channels are encrypted, including Setanta Ireland, and require a UPC receiver and subscription. List of analogue and digital channels carried unencrypted on the UPC network, http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=91110196
