Excellent episode, 9/10, would have been a 10 if the scene near the end didn't take so long between 2 characters I don't really care about. Great cliffhanger at the end too.

    That was very good.

Something I'm loving about this season so far is that it's not at all predictable, I really feel like anything could happen next.

I thought that we'd be hanging around Terminus for the bulk of the season. That one was knocked out of the park after 1 episode.

    Below is from this episode...
Then I thought the termites / fine young cannibals would hunt them and pick them off over the course of the season. Nope.

I thought that Tyrese not killing that guy in the cabin would come back to haunt him. Wrong again.

I thought the termites would turn at some point after eating Bob.

I thought there would be a big reveal about how the priest is actually a really bad dude as opposed to a plain old coward. I appear to be wrong again. (though this one is still open)

All of this makes me feels like the writers aren't afraid to throw us a few curve balls and red herrings. It makes it all the more enjoyable when we get scenes like
the one in the church, I just didn't see that coming at all.

Enjoyed that. Kind of wanted to see the terminus guys
    get sick/turn from Bob's Burger's
but what transpired was admittedly far more dramatic.

Did anyone watch the sneak peak of next week's episode? Seems to be very focused on
Beth, who seems to be in civilisation?
    . Could be interesting.

Enjoyable episiode, quite dark both literally and figuratively.

Quote of the ep : "We didn't want to waste the bullets" :)

Surprised by how quickly they dealt with the Terminus aspect this season. Next's week one should be a bit different.

Anyone help remind me what happened Beth? I have no memory of when she left the group, was she separated from Daryl last season? (I guess I do remember something...)

She was abducted in a black car with a cross on the back of it last season.

Also had Bob been dragged back to the church by the terminus crew or did he make his own tainted way back?

The idea of Bob being bitten was a red herring.

Well, I was totally wrong about this then!

Great episode and, imo, a turning point for the following reasons:

From the start of the show, way back in season one, the show has attempted to have more than one thread going. It did this perfectly in Season one by having focus on Rick trying to find his family and on his family and their group trying to stay safe. When Rick eventually did find them, he had real motivation to leave them again (getting a bunch of guns he'd left behind and going back for Merle; an act which also helped to cement his good character).

After season one, there were a load of contrivances put in to separate the group out a bit so that it wasn't just about some dudes sitting on a farm. There was the search for Sophia, runs for medication, the kid who Rick and Shane were getting rid of, more supply runs, characters getting separated etc etc etc.

But none of them really worked because the story wasn't moving or changing enough. Someone was going off for supplies but, back at the prison, everything was staying the same. Daryl was searching for Sophia but, back at the farm, everything was staying the same.

Going forward, we now have 2 groups that we actually care about. The core group are staying where they are until they try get shít sorted with Daryl, Carol and Beth (presumably, next week's episode will be 'Previously on Beth') and we have the other group heading to Washington. The other group wouldn't really matter except Glenn and Maggie are with them so it'll actually be something worth watching. Now, after 4 seasons, they've finally gotten back to the point where the two main stories that are running concurrently will actually matter. I look forward to this.

They're really not dragging things out this season, which is good. Better than last week's easily. Really didn't expect the Terminus guys to be thwarted so handily.

Very very enjoyable episode. That long shot from outside of the church and everything that followed on from there in the church had me on the edge of my seat. Bloody gruesome too!

Me neither, although I guess it emphasises the point that Rick is (literally) taking no prisoners this time round - they outsmarted the enemy and dispatched them without any kerfuffle, moral to-ing and fro-ing or hesitation. Will we see more of the Termites in flashback I wonder, or would that be extraneous to the storyline....seems like a lot of build up and backstory for them to just be gone so soon.

Why did Abraham say that Glenn and Maggie have to go with them on the bus?

I'm actually surprised Glenn and Maggie went, what with Beth being the only family Maggie technically has left. You'd think she'd at least want to go looking?

Great when they follow the comics so closely yet have a whole new story with daryll and the mystery person in the hedge.

I hate the 'next week on...' bit. Came on way too fast with a big spoiler for next week. Very annoying when you don't wanna know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

I'm absolutely loving this season. It all feels fresh and it's great to be kept on your toes throughout. I really enjoyed the 2nd half of last season too while others appeared not to.

My only problem is the whole Maggie being quite happy to bugger off to Washington while Beth was stolen by the Car people. Is it an oversight or just hoping the audience won't notice the slight leap in logic?

It also means they didn't have to have a huge cull. There was way too many members as one big group.

I think it was a plot device more than anything. Would anyone really care if anything happened to Tara? I know I wouldn't and I'm not really attached to the trio yet but I do care about Glenn and Maggie. When they agreed to go, Maggie wasn't aware that Daryl has a lead on Beth.

Highest Rated Show on US Television by a large margin, it's already been renewed for Season 6 and the producers say they have enough material from the comics already that they have up as far as Season 10 mapped out if they go on that long... As long as the ratings stay the way they are, really can't see it going anywhere anytime soon - should go on for a good few more years...

The terminus crew brought him back, presumably so he'd tell the others where they are so that they'd come looking for revenge, and that they'd sneak in to kill whoever was left behind in the church.

    Fairly stupid alright.

Anyone notice the board in the church with the bible verses that aren't actually bible verses? One quoted MA 2752. It was shown a few times which got me thinking if it's an Easter egg or tease for something.

I googled it and a thread on a Dutch forum seemed to be having a similar conversation!

Great stuff again. The lack of predictability is great. The writing in general has taken a huge leap up from the lows of season 3 and 4.

The fact that Ricks group, who have been through it all, easily dispatch the Terminus crew was simply done but effective. Would be stupid if each group they encounter happen to be slightly harder to deal with than the last. Rick's ruthlessness is badass too.

I think this is up there with seasons 1 and 2 for sure.

Loved it when he said to that guy "I already made you a promise" and then killed him with the machete.

I hope they retain their humanity tough and don't get too used to hacking people to death. The Terminus crew started out as good guys and their experiences turned them into bitter butchers. It could happen to Rick's group as well if they get too desensitised to murder (although I don't think they would go as far as cannibalism).

What was the body count on the Termites in the church?

I counted 3. But there was 6(?) chowing down on Bob.

But yeah, when Rick lowered the gun, I though, "Ah **** sake, let them go agai..HOLY **** THAT'S BRUTAL!"

Almost thought Tyreese would bith out again with Bob, and not knife him. Hmmm.
Hmmm, could Tyreese and Rick come to a issue about the killing of people? He looked horrified by what Rick, Michonne and co did to the Termites

Darryl looked scared when he came out of the woods.

rick, mishone, tyreeks sister and the army guy all killed one each...

Glen and Maggie both looked more than a little shocked by the termites being killed. Finding it difficult to understand their motivation for leaving. There's been no differences with the group that would force them to leave (like Carol) and her sister is missing! It's like she doesn't even remember her.

Like Donna's sister in the 70's show. :D

Really disappointed we didn't get to see any after affects from eating at bob's burgers.

Was there any depth in regards an explanation as to why Glen and Maggie would leave the main group they've been with for so long to hook with some dudes they barely know to go on an extremely dangerous cross country mission to DC with some mullet headed hill billy who says he knows how to get rid of the z's yet has provided little or no proof he can? As I've said in feedback for previous episodes, sloppy writing.

Also, why has Maggie not mentioned once that her sister is gone given they've just escaped from a group of cannibals?

Looking at the way they both reacted to Rick hacking Mr.Terminus to little bits with the red machete i'm not surprised they wanna leave. I don't think either of them had the stomach to do what needed to be done.

As for Maggie abandoning her sister, i think it's kinda lazy writing. There is no way you'd just abandon a family member to join strangers on a half brained mission.

Daryl had a convo with Maggie in the train car at terminus saying Beth was still alive so she deffo knew there was still hope she was out there.

Bit strange that Daryl looked a bit 'off' coming out of the woods. It's hardly going to be Carol with him, why not show her if that was the case.

Also, don't be a dumbass like me. 2 weeks ago I followed a trail of actor names on IMDb which led me to The Walking Dead season 5, episode 4 synopsis, and they had the plot line for next weeks episode which I ended up reading before I could stop myself. If you've seen the preview for next week, it looks just like what they had described on IMDb. :o I didn't realise they had that info so ahead of time. JUST DON'T LOOK :pac::pac:
