Yeah not much of a build up to this one.

I can see this abs lording this by 20+ points. A wallabie back line of phipps, Foley, centre lealiafano and kirundrani, wings aac and tomane and fb folau doesn't sound the most dangerous to be honest. Aac out on the wing is damping his that imo, leali and drani in centre are way too similar type players to threaten the kiwis. Foley without a playermaker outside him is a point of target and he could have a mare. The Aussie bench is not strong, although QC is back.
There's serious questions whether this group want to play for their coach.

The kiwis have put out as strong as possible a team. Barrett in at 10 instead of cruden is the only apparent step down but even that isnt so much of a loss.

This should be a good match, both teams will want to win. The All Blacks have to respond to the loss to SA. Australia probably need the win a lot more to quell the displeasure with the on and off field performances.

Good game so far, Australia's defence is holding up well.

Great break by Lealiifano, good patience shown then leading to the try for Phipps.

Typical AB responding straight away through Jane. Bad defence by Carter. 7-7

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

McCaw caught offside once again. Foley converts. 10-7

NZ respond straight away once again. Nice play by Coles. 10-12

  • About 10 mins behind live but this is a cracking game so far.

    What a game...

Australia aren't giving up. Foley pounces in the corner. 15-12

Great half of rugby. Best Australia have played for a long while.

    Go on the Aussies. Try.

Brilliant team try, and the Centurion finishes it off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

    22-12

  • Can't help but think NZ are a gear behind where they would be of the Bled was on the line. Aus are playing well though, will give us a good idea of where we are next month.

25-15, just over 20 mins left. Been a great game.

Tuipulotu goes to the bin for taking Simmons out in the air, dangerous play.

    Some match alright

Anyone else think that could of been a red? Looked like he had hands on him mid-air. Pretty dangerous.

Wouldn't have been surprised if a red was given but I think the ref got it right.

Great few seconds there. Australia might regret not adding any points in the sin period

This is breathless stuff. NZ looks well below their usual standards but you can't write them off. Hopefully Aus can see it through.

Bit surprised by Australia to be honest. They have not looked great for a while but they've been really impressive today.

Very soft score. Aus look out on their feet.

Great play by A Smith. NZ have to be favourites from here, Australia look out on their feet.

Bit uneasy about that score, was he anywhere near the mark? Anyway as you said Aus are really tired now.

NZ scored 7 during the sin bin. Poor from Austrailia, they'll regret that..

Yeah was thinking that myself. Aus should have been switched on tho, they were still jogging the two meters back to the try line when NZ grounded it.

What a kick by White. Can Australia hold on. 28-22

Great end to the game. 1 min left, NZ ball

If Aus win do SA go to the top of the world rankings?

Not really surprising, should get the kick as well.

AB score right on the buzzer, lazy Aussie defence particularly from the subs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

    29-28 to the AB.

good come back from the All Blacks.

What a finish to a great game. Shocked by the Aussie performance but glad they lost as my kiwi mates would have been destroyed in work this week by the Aussies.

Giving them stick all week to almost lose.

  • Aus have thrown that away. They win possession in their own 22 and tried to run down the clock, put themselves under huge pressure, and finally put in a rubbish box kick which lost them the game. The ball needed to go long, they had the chance to clear their lines more than once.

Was inevitable NZ would score then.

Very reminiscent of the Ireland match - you have to admire them, they never say die

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

The Aussie bench was just not good enough. They did not bring the same level of performances as the players they replaced.

Another amazing game - result never in doubt. :D

I think it's due in large part to how fit the All blacks are vs all other teams.
