Bad mains pressure.I mean bad. A pump was added via a break water tank. when switched on it seems to be gushing and then putting the water back into the tank.

Will a non return need to be added.
I think the pump is calibrated between 45 and 18

    Any help Ud be appreciated

    Cheers b

Sounds like a non-return valve issue. Was there one fitted originally?

A pic would be useful to see the set up, but it sound like you need to fit a non-return valve between the pump out-let and the pressure switch / expansion vessel assembly.

    Expansion vessel under pump

If thats how it was bought from the shop, there is usually a built in non return.
    Any chance of a picture?

There should be a Non Return Valve between the break tank and the pump.
It doesn't matter what type of pump you have, they all work the same way.
If a plumber fitted it incorrectly, then call him back and insist on having a NRV fitted.
    Good luck!

Can these pumps be added somewhere between the mains water connection and the entry point into the house? Currently my booster pump is in the hot press but sick of the noise of it.
