I think we'll be beaten tbh. I've no belief in Cork football. They should've beaten Limerick by about 10 goals.

So any discussion on inter county teams taken off the agenda at tonights board meeting. No doubt waiting for things to calm down hoping the storm will pass.

No debate or discussion on Cork going out of the Championship at the County Board meeting tonight - depressingly that's not a surprise. Sweep it under the carpet.

I presume O'Donovan will be frozen out by the mushroom brigade in the County Board following this.
Don't necessarily agree with all of it but it's an interesting read.

Fair fcuks to O Donovan anf looks a decent doc - worth taking the time to go though it and I hope clubs will buy into it and discuss

Maybe the Titanic is turning Ted

Surely from what has been said here previously all he has done is sign his own resignation letter, or is their actually enough apathy and anger among the clubs for an old style mutiny??

Frank, and his foot soldiers are going no where. We saw bad times before, remember Limerick in 1996 lost by 13 points in Cork. We will have to stay with our boys. By the way where wer all the 40000 supporters that wer in Croke park in 2013, last sat.

The problems in Cork Hurling, no GAA, are far more widespread than the Senior Hurlers, its evident in every single grade, even this years Minor hurlers, who have been touted for the last 4 years as future champions and the first step to the new generation were 6 points up at home against what was considered an ordinary Tipp team and they simply crumbled. Intercounty, Club and Schools Cork are in disarray in all facets of the game.

we're in big trouble tomorrow with that selection, big opportunity for Longford.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 649 ✭✭✭DuffleBag

    My god...

Fellas were worried that panel members would be annoyed that Aidan Walsh or Alan Cadogan might take their place. I can almost guarantee you theyd be more annoyed at seeing fellas who have now played poor in 2 matches in a row start ahead of them. Absolutely braindead selection

FFS! Cork went 29 mins without scoring

Longford scored from a penalty and its now half time

You'd be surprised... it seems it impossible to be dropped off the panel unless you have a beer. A cardinal sin apparently

I was at the last two games, yesterday's first half was one of the worse I've ever seen from any Cork side, no fight or drive whatsoever and Longford really should have buried us. We attacked at walking pace and Longford were clever by having a free man for kick outs but that free man was always back helping the full back when we pumped it into Kelleher on his own.

Didn't see any of the O Driscolls pushing Healy, I would presume it was Brian as he was subbed early. On his form, he will be no loss.

A definite change of attitude in the second half, upped the intensity 1000% and added variety to our play. Paddy Kelly made a big difference and his assist for the second goal was the best moment of the game. Great finish by Colm O Neill for the first one too.

Elsewhere, Ian Maguire had a good second half, Mark Collins rarely does anything wrong and works hard, Alan O Connor was solid throughout and added much needed steel in the middle, Eoim Cadogan was back to his niggly self towards the end.

Looking forward to seeing if we can build on that second half in the next game but I'd be very surprised if we get past the last 8.

Erins Own 4-23 St Finbarrs 3-26 after extra time. Great scoring but perhaps a sign that we are not exactly blessed with intercounty standard defenders

Hopefully Cork will be appealing that Loughrey red card!!

Why? He clearly punched him. Not a particularly venomous punch, but a punch nonetheless. Straight red card all day long. Pointless appealing it.

Some big scores in the county championships at the weekend, no defenders putting their hand up for selection anyway
