Well the internationals are over and a great result for Ireland. Back to serious business now , city away on saturday at 12.45

last away outing was a great result for us against arsenal, dont think we will get anything from city though. 3-0 to city.

We had a good result against Arsenal, but getting a result against City in the Etihad is another story all together. I'd expect a loss, but at long as we don't utterly capitulate, i'll be happy enough.

Think there were signs the last day that we are getting a better shape for being hard to break down.

Hopefully we can improve on this progress and hit them on the break..

Agree with Slegs, Poch has shown signs of being more conservative when playing the 'big' teams. It's the way we've got to play and there's no shame in it. My only concern is that we don't have any natural pace on the break because we'll need to punish them on the counter.

City and Roma went there and took a draw gladly. Stoke went there and knicked all three points. Believe!

Dzeko loves playing against us. City haven't been firing on all cylinders. Hopefully the international players come back unscathed. We might nick a draw, early morning beers for me...win win

The big cry baby may not be playing.

If we could only emulate 50% of what Roma did to them in Europe. We could learn a lot from that game.

I was actually hoping it was ade too. Kompany will never have an easier game

Ade & Bentaleb were late coming back from internationals, doubt either will feature.

He's been performing for a few games now. Looks to be growing in confidence. Let's hope he can handle Silva.

Yeah because he deserves to be eh??!

Harry Kane should be starting out of the three of them. Scoring goals and working hard for the team. Tough luck for the lad.

We simply don't have a striker that can do that.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Soldado shoul start every game with Kane as his partner at home and the so called weaker teams.. Ade should fook off out of the club asap not fit to wear the jersey mate!

    Lamelas started very poorly

He looks very frustrated, which is a bad sign.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Lamela has been a bystander, needs to come off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Soldado links up well, Eriksen looks dangerous. Very impressed with Mason once again, looks like a born leader. If we can somehow contain City's attacking threat, easier said than done, they look vulnerable at the back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Lamela offering no cover, get him off now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,747 ✭✭✭irishmover

    Mason, Eriksen and Lloris exceptional.

Agreed he's off the pace of the game. Really promising performance other than that, especially our tactics and decision making. Been unlucky with that penalty decision, but hopefully the lads can keep their heads up high, and maybe ade/kane could make a difference in the 2nd half.

Augero's goal, can't really blame the defense much, it was a wonderful goal. Nava's always plays well against us. If Lamela isn't offering anything going forward, then he needs to give Dier a dig out who isn't a RB. We look dangerous in attacking play. Either we'll dig in or get mauled.

City actually look like they want to hit us on the break. Lamella quiet but soldado linking the play really well.I'd bring on someone to manmark aguero

Sheet, Townsend will probably make a cameo so. On a different note, Eriksen is absolutely on fire. Maybe those international manager's remarks lit a fire under his ass/ was the right was to inspire him.
