Getmail and Gmail

    Anyone ever get this message:

    SimpleIMAPSSLRetriever:info@domain.com@pop.gmail.com:993:
    getmailrc2: operation error (socket error during connect ((-2, 'Name or service not known')))
    0 messages (0 bytes) retrieved, 0 skipped

    Can connect with an email client but not Getmail running on a Centos machine. Seems to be happening on one account only. Rang Google who said they see no problem.

    Secure POP is port 995 rather than 993? 993 is imap.
    (Sorry, no, imap.gmail.com has the same ip as pop.gmail.com)

    There were 500,000 messages (system messages as far as I looked) in root's maildir. Once I deleted these Getmail started collecting again.
