    Hi guys
So I recently purchased a Samsung UE48H6470 tv and when I go to set it up I can only pick Austria,Germany and Switzerland from the country's menu. I bought this Tv from an Irish website and have since realised this Tv isn't for Irish/Uk market. It was delivered from somewhere in Paris. Can anybody tell me where I stand with this issue.

    Thanks in advance
    Stephen

If its from an irish site you bought the tv from then it should work ok for britain and ireland, you should at least be able to pick uk as the country when you first set it up. I bought a samsung tv from pixmania.ie and i was able to select uk as the country choice which worked ok for saorview free channels. And mine was sent from france.
It said on the site that it has freesat on the satellite side but i am not sure of that as it did not ask for a postcode when i first tried to tune it in, not that i needed it as i have sky. but the weird thing was i had already tuned in the saorview channels and they worked fine, then i went to see about the sat channels and it was not the freesat epg. but when i went back to the saorview channels they had all gone, and when i tried to retune them i could not find the terrestrial tuner, it only offered sat and cable options to choose from.
I tried tuning them back on the cable tuner but nothing, then after about four more tries the terrestrial option came back on the screen and it tuned them in fine, i was ready to box it back up and send it back to pixmania which would have been a nightmare.
Anyway to try and help you out, if you did buy your tv from pixmania they do clearly say that their tvs are for the european market they even send a three pin plug adaptor. i did read somewhere that samsung tvs have a hidden menu that you can go into and choose uk as your country option, look it up on google, i think it will nullify your warranty with samsung though. which does not matter really as samsung in uk or ireland will not register your tv if you bought it from pixmania.ie hope this helps
