X2hot to replace the AMP °19

Maybe a driver although I might just change the head to 10.5 or upgrade to a 913 or... stick with it

I'm actually happy out with my clubs at the moment, maybe new shoes but that'd be it.

Will probably change the whole set in the new year now!!!!!!

    Laser
    Irons
    Driver
    Battery

    Probably not in that order!

A new driver is no 1 on the list

    In the following order:

    Join a club (Seapoint)
    Wet gear
    2 new wedges
    Golf Buddy
    Electric Buggy
Custom fitted Irons (may have to wait till the following year)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 935 ✭✭✭pinkdoubleeagle

    Nothing for me
Going to go through a year without trying to change any clubs
    Will be tough

    Foregolf

I played golf with Aaron from there last year and he tried to explain their concept to me but I was missing something.

I understand they build clubs, but I though getting custome fit from your own Pro, would involve clubs being taylored for you. So I still can't understand what is different about them to getting my own Pro to custom fit me.

I'd be tempted to visit them and see what their opinions of my set up are as I play with a gifted set, mind you they are damn fine sticks Taylormade 300 Series irons and a mix of Taylormade wedges and metal woods.

Hmmm, now I think about it, I just missed a trick, was the birthday last week, but might be an idea for Chrimbo :)

I really don't "need" anything...does that matter though, know I'll without doubt buy something anyway.

My 58 vokey is pretty old & battered at this stage so maybe an update of that?

Tossing up with the idea of investing in an electric trolley

When I hear about a "custom fit" from a pro then in my mind it's usually (not always) confined to things like
    - what clubs they have available in store
    - is the player stiff or regular
    - maybe some messing around with loft and lie.
    - he mightn't have launch monitors etc

In my head it's "custom fit with limitations".
But what I think Foregolf do is remove the limitations and generally get a lot more technical.
So instead of it maybe being a stiff v regular option... They will prob have you try out 5,6,7 different types of stiff shaft to see which is the best.
They would also have you on launch monitors and have way more clubs to try out etc.

While the club pro may be giving you the best setup he has available in store, Foregolf are giving you the best set up imaginable... That's my understanding of it in general (some club pros do have more options, technology available and come a lot closer to the Foregolf offering)

Fair points. I guess my own Pro is probably one of those who come a lot closer to the Foregolf offering so and that is why I am confused.

It might just be a Re-Grip of the clubs for me, maybe a new wedge, new battery, carrying is great, but my clubs are bloody heavy and the back hurts a bit. might give me an extra edge to get the electric cart going again

I can't believe that I will say this - but feel almost good enough to get a laser :D

    Working on 100 yard shot - 75 yard - 50 yard - 25 yard.

I feel a laser will be key to the practice part - say hit 50 - then back pin , know exact distance.

Yes - the lady is for turning. :D

    SM5 wedges in 52deg and 58deg.
Hybrid to replace my 3 iron.
Hybrid or 5 wood to fill the gap between 3 iron and 3 wood.
    Laser rangefinder.
    New shoes and clothes.
    Another putter.

Would love the Titleist 915 Driver but the 913 will be ok for another year or 2.

    The 913 looked the same.
    Anybody try 915 ?

    Mad money.

Bag sorted so just a Swingbyte or Skypro to help with the winter practice

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭galwaylad14

I got fitted for irons last year and it made a big difference I must say. Would recommend it if you're getting new irons (or any new club for that matter)

I also bought an R11 driver, titleist 913 3 wood and scotty putter last year (all second hand, but the value in the second hand market is just unbelievable) last year so there really is nothing I need now.

I suppose I wouldn't mind a range finder but I'm not that pushed about it, maybe if I win a few vouchers or something.

I think I now have a decent set of clubs that are well suited to me so there's no logical reason to change really so I think if I have money to spend on golf next year it'll be mainly on lessons, my ball striking is very good right now but a lesson on the short game wouldn't go astray. My bunker play is dreadful (as in I virtually have no idea where the ball will end up when I'm in a bunker) and I'm targetting getting to 3 next year so really need to get this sorted.

Love the look of the new mizuno irons and the new taylormade rsi irons. Wouldn't mind getting custom fitted for either! ! Might see what santa brings if i drop enough hints

I'll probably be selling my Swingbyte, only used once. I'll be putting it up on adverts.
