    Possible....

Anyway if naismith and lukaku line up wouldnt naismith be the central player?

I would genuinely prefer Fellaini over Fletcher, or surely there's some young lad in reserves who could do a job?

Why is everyone except coleman and mccarthy bolded?

    They are doubtful.

Might not make Germany game next week by all accounts either

    Score draw I reckon.

We'll lose. Lukaku is an absolute donkey but we'll make him look like a superstar.

Im heading over to this one myself, I still can't believe I'll be seeing Di Maria and Falcao grace the Old Trafford pitch in a red shirt! Hopefully we can get back to back wins for the first time this season, it will be such a confidence boost to the squad. Can't wait for it!

Big game. Will have a far better idea of where United stand. I'm predicting Falcao to do the business

If Coleman and McCarthy are out for this game it would work in our favour as they are key players for Everton.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,219 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

im going over for this one so looking forward to it a lot. Going by recent meetings and our options in defense I'd expect an entertaining high scoring game maybe 3-2 either way but I'd certainly settle for a dull enough 1-0 home win. We need to start getting a string of results together big time.

Not a fan of McNair with Blackett available to be honest. While he didn't let the side down last week he did look a bit vulnerable at times which should be expected and could have done better if he had kept his eye on the ball for their goal although admittedly he was under pressure. Ideally I'd like Blackett in with Rojo having played together a fair few times now.

My other worry is Rooney being out. Not simply for his forward quality being missing but his work rate and tracking back. Mata simply doesn't offer that and against an Everton side who I think will give it a fair go and look to get forward I'd prefer maybe an unorthodox move and maybe try Januazj instead.

I thought Jones or Smalling would be back for United

Would be surprised to see McNair starting again

LVG said yesterday McNair will start. Jones and Smalling not ready yet. Blackett is back from suspension so I'm guessing he'll be on the bench ready to replace McNair if he's having a McNightmare.

That sounds like a statement 'Boring James Milner' would say.

That Di Maria is pure class! Real Madrid were crazy to let him go.

Stones v Falcao is the most one sided battle since the 6 day war, the widows and cripples left in the wake of his merciless attack will owe their large pensions to the tiger.
Falcao is going to descend on their back line and repeatedly gift Tim Howard with Cleveland Steamer after Cleveland Steamer.

    Funny, but Stones is quality.

He will be quality and Martinez will have him well drilled but he lacks the experience to Deal with a world class striker, he's not dealing with Frazier Campbell this week.

Ah leave him alone, he's only following football a few weeks. I'm surprised he knows anything about either player to be honest...

it' won't be a walkover, but I think Utd should have enough firepower to win.

    2-1 home win.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 32,865 ✭✭✭✭MagicMarker

if we win by more than two and arsenal draw then we'll be in 4th.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,181 ✭✭✭Crimson King

With Rooney out, I expect Falcao to play further forward, and grab at least one goal. He looked sharp enough last game and is getting sharper all the time

Great to see a few optimists here.

I think Utd will win today. They look destined to concede but with the firepower they have should out score Everton.

I think the early start, coupled with Everton's long trip east gives United a massive advantage

2-1 United. All hope of United clean sheets this season have been abandoned, but with Falcao, Van Persie, Mata and Di maria in a team, you just have to see them scoring goals.

I think a key point will be the absence of Herrera through injury. He does a very good job breaking from midfield.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,751 ✭✭✭newballsplease

You can pretty much predict the team except who comes in instead of Herrera. Probably Fletcher.mmm valencia? Too early for Fellaini id say...

This is going to be the worst game.

Doesn't Valencia pay CM for Ecuador? I'm happy enough with that tbh, I think today's game will be to pacey for Fletcher.

So who actually starts in central midfield?

    Free Palestine 🇵🇸

    Two wingers?

Both started their careers as CMs.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 15,239 Mod ✭✭✭✭FutureGuy

    Two wingers?

Two sides of the diamond. Both players can play in those positions. Val has CM experience. They'll also provide width when needed.

Who's in the middle with Blind? Di Maria?

    Most likely:

    Blind
    Valencia -- Di Maria
    Mata

Blind is back of diamond. Mata tip. ADM and Val at the sides.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Not sure about Val, he is too one footed to be so central, when he plays central for his country its more in the Mata position...... sure we will see how it goes, not exactly expecting to blow them away but I think we have enough to win if the defensive shape is good

    Weak enough utd bench
