EDIT: Ouch just 5-8 last week. Could thing we aren't keeping score.

Surprised the Jets/Chargers is on TV. I think the Broncos/Cardinals could be a really good game.

SNF is possibly the most interesting game of the week though. Patriots need to get it together quickly you would think.

Alex Smith coming back to SF is a good story line, I take the 49ers to get the win but not at all confident in that prediction.

Hi, I was trying to set a recording for Redzone this Sunday and it doesn't seem to be working. Usually you get the option of which you would like to record - the live game or redzone - but no option there.

Anybody know if there is a problem with redzone? I know it wasn't available for 1st game last week due to London, but wasn't expecting a problem this week

Edit : ignore me, working now

Looking forward to the Bengals v Patriots game.

Could a Patriots loss here signal, if not the end, perhaps the start of the end of the Brady/Belichick era?

I wouldn't think so, the Bengals are a very good team. The AFC East is not that strong, very difficult to see the Patriots not winning that division and getting things figured out in time to have a good playoff run.

I will go with Packers tonight, will look ar the rest over the weekend.

For anyone who missed it, here is Aaron Rodgers disallowed TD from last week. Probably the best single play I have ever seen from him, and possibly the best single play I have seen from any QB this decade.

    rodgers2-0.gif

It's even more impressive when you see it from the snap: http://gfycat.com/WastefulGeneralCrossbill

To be fair that one was disallowed at least. :p

Just popped it in here in anticipation for tonight's match, it will be a distant memory to you in a few posts time. ;)

It has a chance of being competitive, Green Bay will face a better defense than they did last week (:(), and the Bears ran for 235 yards on them last week (496 total yards), which the Vikings will presumably try to emulate.

In general I don't think the Thursday night game is a great product, often seems like one of the teams isn't fully prepared to play after just 3 days off.

I'll pick the vikings and come back for the rest of the games tomorrow if that's allowed.

I could live without TNF as well. Don't really care about the Packers so I'll probably stay up for a bit just to see how the Vikings do. Hopefully McKinnon can do well against that run d. Mightn't bother if Teddy doesn't play.

I think so, both have leaky defenses. Id be looking at a high scoring game.

    GB to take it 34-21

Easy win for the Pack. Was looking forward to seeing Teddy again. Will skip it if he is definitely out

    And we're off!

Hoping to see some varied formations, good line play and some more decisive running from Lacy than we've had so far on offence. On defence, I'm just hoping it is a little less embarrassing than usual (last in rushing yards at 176 per game, last in 3rd down conversions, 26th overall in total yards allowed).

At least it wasn't the shotgun for the first two plays. At least there is that. :o

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

We got absolutely shoved by about 5 yards on that first play on every spot but one on the line. Asiata runs smack bang into the back of that ONE guy behind the LOS... and still gains 3 or 4 yards.

Much better play on the second running play after the holding call.

And we stop a third down. I am in shock. Pure shock!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

FAR more like it from Lacy!

EDIT: FAR FAR MORE LIKE IT!! :D

Eddie Bloody Lacy. Two great runs.

    And another.

Serves them right for making us punt like that.

Line gives Rodgers time, he can put it on a plate for Cobb. That was relatively easy!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

McCarthy's been paying attention - not one of Lacy's carries were from the shotgun. Once oyu give him 2-3 steps to gain momentum he is SUCH a better back, ridiculously hard to bring down.

Still getting pushed back too easily on our defensive line.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

We're losing on the LOS defensively, but at least we are getting to the ball carrier quickly.

Nice little touch by Sky with prerecorded some highlight clips to show during the game so we don't get American style overkill of ads.

Very promising to see us not using much shotgun so far.

JORDY MOTHERF***ING NELSON I DO I DO LOVE YOU!!! :D

Nit picky but the refs barely gave us over 4 yards on that penalty, should be 3rd and about 3 or 4 inches. Not sure how that happens on a presnap penalty when nobody has to look at where the ball went dead.

...and we gain about 3 or 4 inches on the play, 4th down. Really irritating.

why is starks on the bloody field

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

why is starks on the bloody field

Sweep was a poor play for that situation, should have just smashes up the middle (obviously would have suited Lacy better, to be fair). McCarthy didn't give Starks a single carry last week, said it was a regret since he got caught up in the game too much, especially since Starks had a 5 yard per carry average over the first three weeks.
