Obviously that man is in need of psychological help.

A failing system is resulting in people like him not recieving the help he needs.
Giving him a fine is no good.

Instead it should be forced detainment for a period of time in a mental institute and get psychologically assessed.

I was just about to start a thread on this. That guy is a sadist. The joke of a punishment just goes to show how little we value animal welfare in this country.

Anyone who harms a defenseless being whether its a child or an animal should be removed from society permanently

Sorry, but I'm not one for this touchy-feely PC "it's not his fault, he obviously has issues"/blame "the system" stuff

We're far too lenient on crime in this country in general and it's that sort of mentality that's to blame IMO

    What a fcuking dickhead.

All "keyboard warrior" stuff aside. If I seen someone doing that I'd give them such a hiding.

I squished a spider a few days back.
    Does that make me bad?

Or is your logic only for the prettier animals?
    What about farmers?

That's a bit different than purposely breaking an animals leg and trying to strangle it to death.

Don't choke on that popcorn now., careful.

High percentage of those that abuse animals will extend abuse to other humans... seriously sick and worrying. Shocked at the outcome tbh.

There's no excuse in the world for treating a defenceless animal in such a sadistic way. People who do are a threat to society and should be removed from it.

On a side note - is it just me or isn't it a bit wierd that the owner suspected this sadist of injuring her dog, yet waited till she could get video footage of it happening before acting to protect the dog? I mean, I know it's good evidence gathering, but if it were me I wouldn't leave the dog alone with that creep for another second.

True, it can be an early indication of a future murderer. According to numerous tv shows I've watched :pac:

That's not the point of the post you quoted though.

The issue of the system being to blame is when a guy like this is simply fined 100 quid and sent on his merry psychopathic way, rather than being checked to see if there are any psychological issues he has which makes him do stuff like this.

Which is more likely to reduce the chances of him reoffending/escalating?

€100 fine will surely put an end to his violent tendencies....

I wouldn't call that lenient at all, making him pay for counselling fees on top of those pityful €100.

i wonder would he have been fined €100 if that was a child he was abusing.

Agreed. People who abuse animals are definitely dangerous. George W. Bush being case in point. As a kid he used to derive great pleasure in torturing animals and blowing up frogs with firecrackers. Sadistic asshole.

It wouldn't be a piece of my mind I'd be giving that ****. I'd be talking to that little p***k with a hurley. Then I'd break BOTH his legs. See how he likes that.

I always say if people can do that to a defenceless animal, then imagine what they'd be like to their fellow man.

Yes. The size of the guy wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Being only 5ft 1.5 most people are taller than me anyway...

He's a scumbag alright but wrt to her pic; anyone who has their face, mouth licked by their dog is just disgusting. Dogs are filthy, they literally eat their (and other dog's) sh1t and lick their arseholes. What's wrong with people?

    And btw I like dogs.

You do know it's good practice to wash your hands after cleaning your hoop, right?

And it's good to practice to wash your hands regularly through the day.

You can never wash them enough though. Even if you wash after every jimmy riddle and barry white, and through the day, you'll always touch some stuff that are riddled with bacteria and traces of faeces.

Sorry OCD people, you're fighting a losing battle.

Letting a dog lick your face and mouth is disgusting, simple as.

As opposed to a dog I use toilet paper and wash my hands afterwards. I suggest you start doing the same!!

Completely different topic from this thread ... but arguing than dogs are not more obviously dogs are more dirty than (most) human beings was a bit funny alight :-/

Your still carrying traces of nasty bacteria on your hands despite your best efforts.

Having read the article, and watched the video, I am not excusing him at all, he is definitely guilty of animal cruelty but he didn't break the dog's leg, it was already in a cast, and states in the article that she had a broken paw, which it says, is obvious from the video.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,929 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

I could not finish watching the video. That asshole needs to be shot in a face and let to rot in some alley. I hate assholes like that.

Nah, shooting him in the face lets him off too easy.

Shot in both ankles and left to walk 10 miles home in the rain would be more in the ballpark of what this specimin deserves.

    As*hole. Hope he dies screaming.

At least this dog has an owner to love and care for him, and restore his trust in people. Think of the many dogs who live like this indefinitely.

was just going to start a thread on this, cant believe the scumbag only got 100 euro.... how is that a lesson?.... he's in full time employment so its hardly gonna break him....
if you dont pay your tv license you get put in jail yet abuse an animal and you get a measly fine...
I was gonna message the wanker on facebook but held back.... would love to meet him on his own with no one around though and sit on him! ..(I'm 18 stone!)

The word you're looking for is "what". And in response to that, I will say (in case you didnt know) the "methadone express" is a slang term for the luas red line, frequented by junkies. If one of them licked my face, I'd go schizoid and probably go an an emergency course of antibiotics lest I catch something. My dog licks my face when I get home - I dont care. I also dont see why you care, since it's not your face she's licking. You are more at risk of catching a disease from a person than a dog.

It also says he had previously hurt the dog unbeknownst to the owner. I think we can safely assume he broke that pup. That video would be ample evidence for me if the two of us were down a dark alley.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

It's not his fault, he obviously has issues, what other reason can there be for the judge to let him off with a fine? Think about it.

Personally, I blame "the system"; it's the same thing with the bumbalance thing yesterday; society is the root cause why these people do such things. Instead of getting all angry at these helpless victims of our society, how about we blame ourselves a little bit?
