So I've found something again on Tmart which is handy to have around the house.

This time it is actually something useful! No UK only GPS here!:pac:

It's an LED Torch with 1700 Lumens of light which means it's really bright.

Been looking for one as they're handy to have at home in case the electricity goes.

    Price with coupon: $5.99/€4.77 delivered.

    Coupon: tmart0922

    Link: Here.

Other places where you can get this torch, albeit much dearer: Here and here.

Hope this will be useful to some of you!:p

True dat, the lumen count is often taken at chip level not when the chip is in the fitting/ torch

    I'm sure there's sufficient lumens.

Looks cool.Judgeing by the number of jets you might need fairly good good pressure though.

    Mine has shipped!

Except 3 week delivery to those of you that ordered.

Customs should be grand too given it's low value.

You go through with the order. I choose paypal. I log in and I'm directed to the pay,net screen and you can enter it there. Worked out at €4.80 all in for me.

Thanks OP, great for the house or car.

There should be an option where it says my shopping cart, near the bottom it'll say coupon code.

Enter it there and pay with PayPal.

Should anything happen PayPal will cover you.

When buying with PayPal, you have to click through paypal and come out the other side back to the merchant side before you can enter the couppon code.

Yeah my bad, PayPal should redirect you back and then enter it.

Actually kind of excited to get it now and see how bright it actually is :pac:

I didn't buy this one. I bought one in lidl with colours that light up depending on the shower temperature but it didn't work sadly. Have to bring it back.
Just writing this in case anyone waiting for me to review the tmart one. I may pick up the Tmart one next week

Not yet, I'd expect the third or last week of October due to 1-7 October being a national holiday in China.

I've never heard of this site before "Tmart" How does it rate to aliexpress. I was just about to order a couple of universal laptop chargers to have in stock. Maybe this could be a better site?

To be honest they're all one and the same.

    TMart, AliExpress, DHGate, GearBeast etc.

You're going to get cheap prices with month long shipping with the chance of getting caught by customs depending on the price, customer support agents with broken English and random names, this is a given no matter where you buy from in regards to China.

Just buy from whichever has the cheapest price and be prepared to wait ages for delivery.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 559 ✭✭✭Joe Doe

Go a few Ultrafire CREE T5's Zoomable LED's.
Which are actually better as only need x1 AA.
Available universally for just a few shilings
    takes 3wks slowboating from chinatown.
Only 5w, still superbright as led.

Did any of you get your light yet?
Is it as good as the photos make it out to be?

Did you not read about the recent Aliexpress IPO? Ali* is the new Amaz*.

Customs charges only apply if the item(s) cost > €22, or something like that. You did say 'depending on the price', so I am just clarifying for other readers here.

Got it this morning.Certainly bright and is made of metal,so worth the purchase price I suppose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,082 ✭✭✭cfeeneyinterior

Got it, not bad at all. I seems to have some kind of sos capability. When you turn it on it comes on regular, then of you half press the button it turns to strobe, then again and if my Morse code translation is correct is flashes "SOS"

    Thanks OP

I got the two I bought yesterday morning.

    They're very very bright.

I think it'd be useful even for children at Halloween.

I have it just in case my electricity goes which it usually does at this time of year!

I bought one of these from T Mart recently can't remember the price e6 approx.Great light can be heavy on battery use.Better to get the optional 18650 Li ion battery and charger for it.I'd say 3 AAA A Batteries would only last 20 to 30 mins on full power.Correct me if I'm wrong! It gets warm in use as it's quite powerful. Great light though!

My single {2700 rechargeable} AA 5w led torch (better than messing around with x3 aaa's in a barrel) will run a full month on almost daily short occasional use.

One advantage of LED is the low power, so 3/5w cree chips about the same as a kitchen radio on low/standby settings, and no complicated transformers, nor circuit boards to power.

The 7/10w versions can be a bit more power hungry though and can be some heat related issues with them. Had a 20w pure led floodlight but it burnt itself out after using for just couple of months, so they don't like getting hot.

Imagine once led's replace the street lights of the planet, it will shave maybe 10% circa of the earth's electric bill. The chap that discovered them picked up a Nobel prize recently.

No he didn't, they passed him over, he's not impressed about it either.

Nobel Prizes are gone to f*ck now, getting worse every year.

Ah so it went to other group who focused on the 'bluer' led spectrum. Low-energy blue LEDs are used to create a more efficient white-light lightbulb. Prefer regular blue to the warmer glow but read blue can interfere with melatonin signals if used at night.

4/5 of the earth's electric consumption is for lighting usage apparently, struth.

Nah, its only about 20% in the US and it will be less elsewhere, nowhere near 4/5.
