    Hi
I had two teeth out last Thursday - my eye tooth & big one beside it. Took ages - lots of injections (& tears :-( )
Today there is a dull persistent throb in the area. munching painkillers but not really working. Can`t see into the holes but my young son looked & says it looks like a tooth is growing in one??!
Feel like biting down hard on something ~ could I put in gauze & see if a good chomp would ease pain or would this be bad? Have heard dry socket is screaming agony - this pain isn't but definitely worse than yesterday. Any ideas please?

    Thanks

Pain is a post operative complication of extractions. Dry socket tends to be a deep seated throbbing ache that usually starts the day of the extraction or two days after. The pain can vary from case to case. If you are concerned as part of your after care your Dentist could check it for you.
I have found that if it is a dry socket , then time and good pain management should heal it.
Normally I would expect the pain to be subsiding by now.

Sounds like a possible dry socket to me, have your dentist look at it...
