Slapped growing up

Ok I was raised by my dad like all children I misbehaved sometimes
My dad's discipline method was to slap my backside with wooden spoon
Anyone else have this done by their fathers or do you consider it was inappropriate it occurred between age 5 and 10 I'm now 38

Corporal punishment was acceptable up until the late 80s.
I doubt there is anyone over the age of 30 who didnt get hit as punishment, be it the wooden spoon, or a belt or a hand.
I am close to you in age and both my parents used corporal punishment on me but stopped when I was 10 as they did some parenting classes, and the rest of my sibling have little to no memory of such punishments.

I would not use such punishments on my own children at all.

I'm in my mid 30s and was slapped by my parents as a child, when I was bold.
I don't ever think about it.
I definitely don't think it was inappropriate.

Mid 30s and slapped by my mother a lot. She also used to do a bit of a grab and a squeeze of the upper arm if you were bold.
Not only did she slap my sibs but would've slapped my cousins also if they misbehaved.
Can't remember specifics but think my dad would've slapped on occasions also.

Personally I think a little slapping wouldn't go astray in child rearing today.
