Your first impression of boards

I used to post on a different, anything goes type forum before. I remember someone on it continually giving out about someone called snip, or something like that on here. Comparing him to comic book guy and such. So I had to take a look and couldn't believe how much of a nazi this guy was and swore I'd never join.
When that forum got shut down, I joined and somehow, I'm still here today.

    Much disappointment ensued....... :(

I like it but find it a bit hard in certain threads to contribute (religious, Irish etc) as they are rather monopolized by the people who regularly comment on them and who just seem to want to antagonize people, so I mostly read threads, like points I agree with/find funny and only occasionally comment. Maybe I just need some more experience with it but I'm content

Boards, first impressions. Not so impressed.

    Ah well, onwards and upwards.

Joined Boards years ago for access to a forum hosted here. Then discovered the rest of the place. Found it cliquey, in-jokey, exclusionary etc but also interesting topics and good writers.

After a while it seemed less cliquey etc. it's got its own specific "culture" for sure, which no doubt seems quite esoteric to newcomers.

Are you going to answer the outstanding question..

You don't need to implicate yourself, just a wink or a nod of the head will do.

It's a new and radical form of 'meta comedy'. Initially it doesn't appear to be remotely funny. In fact, rather the opposite. However if one is to analyse it further they will soon discover that it is in fact still not slightly funny.
