    Hey guys,
Im starting to try and walk more lately, badly needed!, but the thing is my feet hurt quite a bit after it even if i go for a 20minute stroll. Im wondering does anyone know of supportive socks or something thatd help in some way??

MODS, if this is the wrong place to post this, move it please :) thanks!

Sure you've got the right footwear on? If your runners aren't right, supportive socks aren't going to make much of a difference.

I'm personally fond of Aasics (however it is spelled!) - but you might get better answers in the Athletics/Running forum.

If you really get into the walking, I think Lidl/Aldi are great for the clothing and socks but the runners cut the feet off me. Most people do have to shell out on the footwear :)

It might not be a bad idea to see a sports physio who can sort out any underlying problem, but the wrong footwear will definitely not be helping you. Your feet shouldn't hurt after a short walk.

Depends on how much the OP weighs. There is easily a point where your feet can hurt after small amounts of time walking.

I would talk to a chiropodist. You might need arch supports or similar. If you are in Dublin there is a specialist place in Stillorgan called Foot Solutions. Not sure if they have branches elsewhere. But get analysed by someone who knows what they are doing.

First thing first. Make sure footwear is suitable for proper walking with good pads. Get proper runners. They don't even need to be expensive.
