You'd probably need to come up on the 18th! :)

You can pick me up and I'll pay :)

I might be interested if my 5s sells on Adverts.

Apparently you'll be able to preorder for collection in store, so no 4AM start this year!

Where did you see the pre-order & collect in store? That would be nice to be able to wander up there at leisure....

Pre-order for collection seems interesting, any issue with Irish Credit Card? Link suggest you must have a valid UK card. Point number 1 on the bottom of the page.

Then again, not sure which version I want yet anyway.

That's for people signing up for contracts.

I'll definitely be preordering on the 12th for store pickup. If it's anything like the iPhone 4 preorder. Expect to still wait inline for a few hours.

I reckon this is going to be huge. The pre order lines will be jammed. If your going down to queue for one I'd defo go on Thursday eve. Early. I am.

It definitely was. Still trying to decide what time to arrive.

for ages people have been crying out for bigger screened iphones. i think queues will be massive in victoria mall.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 908 ✭✭✭Tazium

I was using my dad's note3 last night to get a feel for the size and really I think it's massive. I know the Plus is slightly smaller physically but I'll need a hold of it for a while to decide one way or the other. Still undecided but leaning to the 4.7 version. Thinking to reserve one of each so I can take more time to decide.

I would be up for a car pool up to Belfast to collect. Does anyone know if you have to pay the full price of the phone to pre-order? Thanks

When I pre ordered the 4, you just give your details and email address. If you don't collect within the window they give you, it goes back on general sale.

Might be something similar this year. But I Deffo didn't pay until I got to the store.

    Anyone doing this?
    iPhone Reuse and Recycling Programme

Trade in your old iPhone and get up to £230 for a new one.

What might one expect to get for a brand new 4S?

Yep saw that. Some macrumors uk members have talked to Apple support and we're told no preorder for store pickups. Only delivery.

I suppose we will find out either at midnight tonight, or 8am tomorrow morning.

Looks like it just says "Pre Order from the 12th" now?

On the link stimpson posted it says:

    Pre-order from 12 Sept.

Or reserve from 12 Sept. for pickup at an Apple Retail Store.

When pre ordering do they ask for an address or is just name and email and your chosen store?

Name, email and store for the 4. May be similar for this. But they haven't done a pre order since the 4 so nobody knows for sure yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 79 ✭✭drumzone

Was thinking strongly of pre ordering!! But the trip up and the q'ing with others will be an adventure. Lol. I still think the lines will jam. What to get. The plus is the top line phone. All I want, if I get that one is that it fits into everyday use. And my pocket. If your in line on the day and when the crew come round asking which model you want, what can you do. You have to say one or the other. What does everyone else think. I'm going night/eve before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,238 ✭✭✭Kaizersoze81

If you pre- order are you guaranteed it when you turn up to the shop? They must be happy they've enough to meet all orders if they're allowing pre orders

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 79 ✭✭drumzone

That's all well an good. But you watch. It'll be like getting tickets for ac/dc. Lines will be jammed. And gone in minutes. You'll need to be really lucky.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,206 ✭✭✭Zcott

I'm definitely going to come down at some point next Friday if only to say hello to you guys.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 79 ✭✭drumzone

Lol. That's nice of you. Bring a few snacks.

Once you pre order, you are guaranteed your phone on the assigned day. The computer will stagger collections based on pre formatted deliveries arranged.

I just reserved a 4.7" model. All the iphone 6 plus are sold out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 79 ✭✭drumzone

So, they likely have them for ones that are queueing. Looks like it's the only way to get a plus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42 dast1g

Just noticed at the bottom of the email that Apple sent me it says to bring UK info with me. Driving licence, uk bank details??? But this is for collection. Never needed any of that when I bought my other iPhones down there.

Only needed if your buying on contract.
