I havent used mine but I feel like im missing out on something. I havent needed to use it as I am performing quite well. It was hard work to not use it during the International break, but im clinging to the idea that a great opportunity to use it will present itself.

Im hoping the likes of City, Chelsea, or Liverpool will all play twice against weaker sides on the same week.....somewhat of a perfect storm.

Used it this week, happy with the decision so far.

Yes (well I'm playing it this week) and it looks like I should have sat on my hands to avoid using it. With the new price changes structure it does not seem as much an advantage to use it early as it was...

Used it last GW. Bad idea by the looks of things

No, but my main rival is mid his wildcard, which may force my hand if he takes much of a lead on me

Me too, probably should have held on but I'd Mata, Rooney, Jovetic, Chambers, JWP, Cahill (to downgrade) so went for it. Will get Rooney back in for QPR and pocket the 0.1m.

yes, waited until the window shut, so still playing!

Used it last week - too many injuries on my team. Best decision I made though :)

Used it last gameweek. Looking like I've to make 3 transfers this gameweek so no it wasn't a success.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭The Wild Bunch

Still have mine - team is doing okay - ideally would like to get rid of Mata but I'll use a -4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

    Havent used it yet.

Have a desire to hold onto it, but my team needs changes and with Rooney dropping my team value is woeful so most likely play it next week.

I could go with a couple of changes per week over the next two or three weeks for hits and try to hold it but doubt if its worth fighting it any longer.

    Courtois (Gilks)
    Clyne, PvA, Hutton, Caulker, Coloccini
    Fab, Ramsey, Mata, Siggy, Albrighton
    Rooney, Costa, Jovetic

Need to shift at least 5 of those really.

The days of using WCs to increase team value are gone it would appear. I will be holding my WC for an outbreak of team injuries or to maximise a future double GW.

    Currently have it activated

Opting for a high valued defence strategy for the coming weeks with the view to using transfers to get in the high priced attackers once we see who is firing and performing in the attack

No need to play it with that team, solid

Anyone know if you can find out how many people WC'ed each week?
I know the site shows the stats for the previous week but wondering is there a log kept?

I've a similar team with the added problem of a doubt over my best player :)

I've no real intentions of using the WC just yet, plan to use it during the next international break when a lot more questions will be answered and a lot more WCs will have been used (if that matters).

It'll give me time to see how the CL teams are approaching the PL...
I really want to see how Liverpool line up either side of CL and also how Arsenal shape up with more options than they've had before.
It'll also be a better time to cast judgement on United and it conicides with Newscastles (2 keepers) nice fixtures ending!

Haven't thought about it too much :) which generally ends in FF disaster :(

I've tried this strategy once - makes watching the games unbearable.
Every time someone scores you cry.
Much better to have money tied up in attacking players. A forward can score any time, a defender won't get his clean sheet points back during the game.

Already played mine I can never resist that big shiny button but agree with your strategy and was my initial plan. I also think next week is better than this week as although you know who has signed for who this week. Next week you have the added bonus of knowing how the new signings affect each team.

Yes and currently in play, but yet to see any benifit yet re making money from the price rises/falls. other than getting rid of Rooney before he went down in value.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,606 ✭✭✭patmac

Have Ramsey, Hazard and Jovetic all injured was wondering should I play mine or wait a week until after the QPR game as I have Mata and Rooney as well, thinking of Rooney as captain for one more game. Can still bring in a sub. Full team
    De Gea (Myhill)
    Azpilicueta, Dummett,Chambers , (Ferdinand),(Potts),
    Mata, Hazard,Ramsey, Fabregas,(Noble)
    Rooney,Weimann and Jovetic

Waiting, want to see how Falcao and Welbeck start, few other small changes I wouldn't mind making, will prob use it in next few weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 328 ✭✭Griever931

Yes but regretting using it so early with the injuries piling up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

Still waiting for a huge DGW to use it. I might change my mind after this weekend, though.

Steady price rises / falls only encourage me to keep it for as long as possible or necessary.

I needed to come back here and have a read of this.

Hadn't given the WC a consideration in 2 weeks until 10mins ago when I found myself on the site and looking at -36 points...... WTF

I don't know if I can talk myself off this one.

Go for a walk. That sounds like a mistake. If you had no intention of wildcarding all GW sounds like you have been tinkering so much you've fried your brain and will have serious regret in the morning.

Yes. It may turn out to be one of my worst decisions in this game. We'll see.

No wildcard, but I did take an 8 point hit.

Really wanted to avoid such hits (first of the season) this year but it's one that may pay off spectacularly... Or the reverse :)
    Costa -> Mario (c)
    Jones -> Rojo

No wildcard used yet. Havent even taken a hit, but that may all change in the morning depending on how the yellow's improve/disimprove

Don't think a hasty wildcard on a Friday night is something you'll ever be glad you did.

Ive the captaincy on Super Mario too! :D

Costa to Mario for a hit is some brave move.

Leaning that way but just afraid of Siggy really. WBA away is a great fixture for Naismith though.

8 point hit this week for 4 transfers. Feel the 2 extra transfers are worth the hit so I can keep my wildcard. Most of my rivals seem to have used it this week. I've used it this week every other year and I've always wished I didn't come later in the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

8 transfers on this WC, although two of them was fletcher to costa, then costa to super mario once he made me a profit.

    You sold Costa:eek:

I was worried about him but didn't think selling him was an option tbh.
We will soon find out who was right.
