Prices have remained relatively static, infact, I believe they may have shifted slightly downwards this year.

Ya the iPhone 6 is cheaper than the iPhone 5s was on release. You are getting more memory for your money now.

Anybody know if the pre-order is just for store collection?

Hopefully that means an early delivery time so. As in if we order on the 12th they may be available on the 19th for dispatch or near that time anyway. Last few times you have ordered the same day they have been in stores and dispatch was about 3 weeks later.

I'd say your spot on. Order the 12th. Dispatched the 19th, which is a Friday. They may get to Parcel Motel on the Monday, then to your PM Inbox by Tuesday/Wednesday latest.

Would be great. Its a way better idea than having online and instore sales taking off at the same time.

Not really... Here are the prices of previous iPhones on Apple's Store at time of release:
    iPhone 5S September 2013 €699
    iPhone 5 September 2012 €679
    iPhone 4S September 2011 €599
    iPhone 4 June 2010 €599
    All 16gb models

Only for the 64gb model. 16gb is the same price as last year.

Ive never bought 16gb models so cant disagree, ive bought 32gb models all the time up in Belfast. its 20 more this year for a 64gb phone against a 32gb IP5 from September 2012.

Well the pricing I have shown is true I used internet archives to go back to what the Apple website looked like in 2012, 2011, and 2010.

You have to specifically buy the GSM version.

Not doubting you, I just looked back my apple store receipts for mine. You get them by email so I've just saved them over the years.

I was expecting dual sim card capability for iPhone 6 from Apple but they disappointed me .. :(

There are people have to used 2 phones (work&personal ). Why does Apple ignore this fact ?

I'd say you were possibly the only person that expected that. Never heard it mentioned with iPhones, particularly seeing as Apple made sim cards smaller, and are pushing to do away with them altogether.

Dual SIM adapter cases were invented 2 years ago for iPhones but nothing replaces the Original(built in) from factory .

I think that's pretty bad IT deployment by the IT department if anyone needs two phones.

Except they expect you to pay 100-200 more to increase your memory. But its you can do its yourself with a Samsung for an extra memory card. Its a rip off, as no one in their right mind will buy a 16gb phone unless they plan on not taking photos or having music on it

    http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/iphone/

here it says "Pre-order iPhone 6 and have it shipped to you for free, or reserve for pickup in store. You can also buy at the Apple Retail Store from 8:00 am on 19 September"

does that not mean we can reserve on the 12th to pick it up on the 19th?

    Order 12th
    Dispatched on launch day 19th
Arrive at Parcel Motel maybe Monday 22nd
Arrive at your Parcel Motel collection box maybe Tuesday/Wednesday 23rd/24th (roughly)

Ok so this changes everything. It means you don't have torque as such. This is the way the iPhone 4 was launched. You ore ordered and just arrived at the store on the given day and picked up.

If this is correct then that's great news.

At the last minute judging by previous launches. Each one will be trying to out wit the other.

I have two phones. One from work where I will be contacted working hours and another one for personal use so people can't contact me all hours/weekends.

Guys does anyone know if there are any issues with picking one of these up in the States and using them here ? I think there was some issues with LTE or something on the iphone 5 ?

At $649 it's much easier to take than 699 euro for the 16gig

Lol phone prices used to exceed a grand before my first phone was IRL£1699.00 plus VAT @ if I remember 25% so £2,123, that was in 1989. Nokia also in the late 90's had flagship phones that cost in excess of a grand.

They were all subsidised back then. The level of subsidy is a lot less now

No subsidy in late 80's in fact in early 90's subsidy only amounted to £50 no matter the model phone. Also subsidy by networks was usually only on the cheaper handset and often did not give a discount on flagship models.

Are you sure of that? I bought a macbook pro in the states and had the charger replaced for free within the warranty period.

Does the worldwide warranty exclude iphones?
