New technology, born sexed, polled, and tagged! Very handy :-)

If im not prying too much....Tell us more about the inducing-is it a injection into the muscle and did yet hang around to calve them? cost? how long between injection and job done?

First time it was ever done here. The vet gave her a shot both sides of the tail of estrumate and said it could be 36hrs before she calves. She went about 18hrs. The reckons allot of people do it with twins and we have another heifer with twins to. Not sure to do her or let her at it herself!

i wouldn't do it unless in need of it iv done it a few times and i hate doing but if it has to be done it has to be done. A healthy cow when calf when shes ready had a cow calf last night went 304days but i was never tempted to induce her nature usually takes care of itself

Agree although I've used it. They tend to retain the placenta as well.

That's a seriously good picture and zoom you've got. What type of camera is it?

Rubber slat, wouldn't chance calving on concrete slat if at all possible.

I think its a no name brand but its got 27x zoom and is working in very poor light there i.e one 70w metal halide at the other end of the shed. I'm pretty happy with it, strangely the quality seems much better when viewed through the phone - probably smaller screen makes the difference.

Cheers. Bought a heifer of a lad about 5 years ago and he gave me 2 epi straws for luck. Had forgotten about them till I came across them in the flask last spring.
    Was hoping for a heifer!

You are lucky to have them straws. I can get a few myself but they are €100 a pop, so i will have to forget about him. He is a massive bull, your calf is taking after him. Probably one of the best blues available to use on smaller plain cows.
