Is there anything on the market that's like deep heat but doesn't stink?

    Tiger balm stinks too imo.

I use a generic version of this
    https://www.voltarol.co.uk/products/apply-to-skin/voltarol-emulgel-p

but it *is* medicine so wouldn't be slapping it on willy nilly.

Yeah that horse balm stuff is what I was looking for today. No luck yet but I've 1 more spot to try that had it a while back.
I had a look at the cooling ointments and maybe I'm wrong but I think I'd feel better having an area heated and encouraging blood flow rather than cooling it incase it reduced it.
Plus in the winter it'll come in handy keeping my knees warm as I'd say my big old shed of a gym will be an icebox!

I know you are looking for alternative creams, but I got a infrared lamp in lidl a while ago and found it worked really well. It was only about €10. I think they come into stock about twice a year.

Not sure where you're putting it, but for those that are suffering with the nasty stank of deep heat / tiger balm; if you put it on and use wraps (medical dressings or whatever) you should find it doesn't smell. Depending on how much pressure you use, it generally feels a lot better when wearing the wraps than it would otherwise.

Particularly useful if you've a groin strain and you don't fancy burned ballbag.

There is stuff called 'Amol' I got in Poland once which is very good. I don't know if the Polish shops here stock it. It's one of these 'inside or outside' treatments.
    The bottle looks like this:
