Hi, sorry if this is the wrong section but could use some assistance from the lovely ladies of boards..
Background story is working on, now managing a cereal cropping farm in the Uk, for 4yrs 3months, dating my much better half for just under 4yrs. I know it's a cliche but truly fell head over heals the moment we met, living together happily after 6 weeks, i have no defences against her. The past week has been Extremely busy as this is our main work period during the year and fell behind, but today was wet and a bank holiday Monday so a pyjamas and chocolate day was organised! :D.
So, over the course of the morning she revealed a letter from a Gp's appointment from Friday to reveal we're hopefully having a little person in about 8 months, i'm completely blind sided, we hoped for kids one day but never made plans.... So, spent today just talking about things, but have a few questions i have and hope you maybe able to help with.

-She is currently working in Ag research with cereal crops and some pretty hazardous agri-chemicals for a company who are funding her PhD, would this be something for an expectant mother to do?
-She did have a contraceptive implant , which we thought would have had her covered for a few extra months or so, or do they fail sometimes or we could be wrong/past the safe period of the implant?

Thanks for any help you could give, it's one hell of a supprise that's knocked us for 6,but it's a good one! Going back to the Gp tomorow afternoon together to talk about things.
It's all a bit bewildering and exciting! :D

Hi OP, and congratulations on your happy news :)
I'm afraid that boards doesn't allow any medical advice to be given out. Noth questions you asked are significant ones to consider in a new pregnancy, so really I'd talk them through with the GP when you see them.

    Best of luck with everything,
    Sauve.
