Blood Test bruising

Not sure this is the right place to post this really.
I had a blood test late last week and observed my arm was a bit more sore than usual. Thought nothing of it until 2 days after when I came out in a nice purple bruise about an inch and a half long, and it's not even where then needle went in which is even stranger. Also when I took the plaster off a few hours afterwards it was totally clean.
Is this normal or should I tell my Doctor?

I'm assuming it's a bit further down your arm?

It being a bit sore or no blood on plaster wouldn't be a cause for concern.

Neither would bruising a bit downstream of where the blood came from.

If you're talking to your doctor, then mention it but I'd hold off just yet if those are the only symptoms.

It's a little higher up my arm and to the left of the puncture site. Other than this bruise and it being a little sore to touch I have no other adverse symptoms.

This happens me every so often. Wouldn't worry about it.

Wouldn't worry about it in that case.

Bruising doesn't have to be around the immediate site of the puncture.

I've had bruising in the past but none like this one so got be a little worried. The last time before this I had no bruise at all but there was a nice bit of blood on the plaster so it must bleed inside if it doesn't bleed on the outside.

It can just depend where the needle went into the blood vessel. It might not have been close to where the needle went in, it might have gone too far and blood leakedo ut the far side. No biggie.

Rub some arnica over the bruise it will disappear quicker then. You'll get it in the chemist.

Heard of that stuff before but never used it. My Doctor called me with the results since my last post and I mentioned it to him, he said it just happens sometimes and its nothing to worry about.

Had the next set of bloods done yesterday and so far all I have is a small bump where the needle pricked the skin and a very tiny amount of redness around the puncture sight so it seems to have been just bad look the last time. I had an extra bottle taken this time too.
There was a little blood on the plaster this time as well.

I didn't the last time either but it looked like someone hit my arm with a hammer instead of sticking a needle in it.

I started donating blood this year. After they remove the needle and put the plaster on, you are supposed to apply pressure to the area. The first time, I didn't bother and got a big bruise that took about a month to go away. The next two times I made sure to keep some pressure on the plaster for about ten minutes after and got no bruising at all.

I had a similar bruise from getting bloods done last month then it went away, it went away it's only a bruise.
Not long after that my wife got a kidney transplant. With a tube in each arm and another in the side of her neck she'd could show you bruises.
I don't want to sound like a dick but come on. If that's worth worrying about then you're in great nick
