Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So Kerry / Mayo drew today , and I presume bookies won anyway .

well I had Kerry backed to win and my bookie has my money , as he had 2 chances , Mayo to win or a draw .

Why does a bookie keep the money if match is a draw ?

You've answered your own question unfortunately.

There's specific markets set up to give the punter a two-way outcome.
Draw no Bet, Handicap (variety of values & asian Handicaps), To win the tie, Double Result.
The odds will factor in the condition, but losing 10% on a margin is better than losing the whole bet.

There's always the market "to qualify".
    Worse odds but no draw.

You obviously didn't see about the GAA manager who won €170,000 off Boyles after backing a few horses and THE DRAW in the match!
    Different results for different folks.

If I back a golfer in a golf tournament then the bookies have about 150 chances against me. I don't really see your point.

Is a draw a fair result in a football match? A rugby match?

Your docket says it. Kerry to win. Kerry did not win

Don't mean to sound harsh but that's a bit of a daft question

You would have got Kerry to qualify for a small loss in money compared to the win. For example, Tipp were 11/10 to beat cork, and 21/20 to qualify, covers the draw and replay then if happened. So if you staked €100, you'd lose only €5 overall. Well worth it to cover the draw in games that you can see being tight.

You knew what you were betting on in the first place, so why complain?

    Pointless thread.

PS. I'd a horse backed yesterday died a death 3 furlongs to go, do I get my money back as I didn't get a run to the line for it, NO.

I backed Kerry to win today, does my bet still stand as it was extra time win?

no 70 minute betting is all the win market covers there
