I believe there is two F16s from lakenheath going to do a flypast at 1220 for the start of the game. They won't be landing in Ireland.

But what charters, large aircraft are scheduled to come in.

I'm not trolling, if a mod would like I can forward them proof as I am not making it public.

I didn't say based at Lakenheath, they will be flying here from Lakenheath then flying back to Lakenheath.

If you think for one minute that the GAA would be involved with a flypast by two F 16s given what's happening in the Gaza Strip you are very much mistaken, why post it then say you won't make it public, you just have done that.

What has the Gaza Strip got to do with two American F16s and the GAA.

Any Mod you're welcome to PM and I will forward you proof. But I am NOT publishing it.

USAF F 16s Flying from their base in either Germany of Italy to England and then over to Dublin for a Football game?
Is this the same USAF that could only supply one aircraft on static display to the biggest airshow in the UK due to cutbacks?
And that aircraft had only to fly 15 mins...

I think you need to check your sources and then don't tell anyone..;)

I have PM'd Tenger. Hopefully he will respond positively and he will confirm what I have "claimed". Does that sound like trolling ?!

Can we move past this, to be honest I'd like to hear an answer to the question if anyone knows... What visiting aircraft are we likely to see?

PLease note the use of the word 'believe'.

GVHOT has emailed me a copy of a document that backs up his assertion.

The document is a request for an overflight. It mentions aircraft type and callsigns, states no munitions will be carried and mentions the time and date. (30th August)

Penn State were flying United....might be a B767, B757. We could get lucky and get the (normal used for military flights) ex-Atlas Air B747 that is in United Charter livery.

World have since ceased operations so no MD-11s. KLM are the last passenger MD-11 operator and they are retiring their last examples in the autumn.

Who was the operator of the pax one in DUB a few weeks ago? Or was it a pax one?

I will tell what it has to do with F 16s , the anti - war brigade would raise holy he'll if it happened, don't get me wrong it would be great if it happens but you only have to think of all the protests the Salthill Air Show had to endure over so called "weapons of mass destruction" they even had protests over the Red Arrows, and with Israel using F16s in the current war I rest my case.

Is this for an American game or the All-Ireland game? I know there's an All-Ireland game soon, just not sure when

Season opening game for the American Football college league, it will also be the first time for both teams to play outside of America

Just what I thought. I know that American games played in Ireland are normally around this time of the year

Its good, not bad pricing on the tickets either, €50 for family ones (2 adults + 2 children), then single ticket prices start from €20 up to €125

I wouldn't worry about the GAA, they will accommodate anything once they get money.

Definitely wont get an MD-11 as the last US Airline to operate them on charters in passenger configuration was World Airways and they have ceased trading with all of their MD-11s now stored in the desert

Another has previously given the info that they will stage from RAF LakenHeath tomorrow. Callsigns will be Sabre 1 and 2, overhead Croker 1220-1230.

Don't think they are deployed at Lakenheath (there's F-15s there)

Maybe from Aviano. There's also some in Poland at Lask as part of the Baltic Air Policing Mission.

F-16s are from the 22nd FS Spangdahlem AB Germany and will fly to Lakenheath to do the flyby for the game.

First off I want to apologise to GVHOT as I never believed that this could happen and I thought he was messing, I am glad it is taken place but it will be interesting to see how many anti-war protests there will be hopefully none.

Coincidentally, this popped into my inbox today.....
F-16CJs belonging to 22nd and 23rd Fighter Squadrons from Spangdahlem AB, during a NATO FACs exercise held at Nordhorn Range in Germany on Aug. 20, 2009.....

No you thought I was Trolling and apology accepted and to be fair I can understand why people would think I was making it up.

I have no further info on orientation of run etc, I expect east to west to minimise disruption to Dublin and probably a climb to the west and a left turn out of 5000ft to minimise noise.

You ever seen any USAF previous flypasts, low very low. Doesn't matter what the IAA prescribe they'll ignore it.
