Nobody of any consequence - just some unemployed crusties.

I'm concerned moreso with what people have done in order to protest.

I'm fairly caught up with the Freemen, Pro-Palestine, Anti-Austerity, Fluoride, Tax the Rich, Jail The Bankers, Occupy, Shell To Sea, Price of Jaffa Cakes, Turf cutting, Pylons, and Wind farming protests at the moment.

Shout a bit. Lie down in the road. They normally come back in when their mum tells them the dinner is ready.

Ha ha. What happens if I lie down in the road?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,299 ✭✭✭✭The Backwards Man

I bought sweet biscuits for the workers and they haven't turned up yet and they are nearly out of date.

You'll need to go outside now and try it. Make sure the road is busy.

It's a cul de sac and I'm not unsubstantial in size. You'd see me from space.

Well...walk down the cul de sac onto the main road. Its called exercise. It'll help with the "size" matter.

I left my car parked for 3 days over my stop-valve, all my sheep for neighbours got meters but I have not. Also my connection is entombed underneath a 2.5 metre reinforced concrete slab I installed in 2010 after the winter freeze up which saw my mains freeze. I installed a secondary private stop valve within my private property and buried down the council's pathetic attempt under concrete.

Irish Water workers came to the door and I told them I didn't use council water and I am not giving consent for a meter as I do not use their supply. I then parked my fathers unused car over the concrete entombed valve as a secondary measure. I did not get angry or engage them, rather it was a peaceful protest which succeeded. I enjoy free water today whilst my neighbours must now conserve it because they were too pathetic to stand up and resist like I did. I will never pay for water and will gladly go to prison before paying for water or property tax. I will remain uncompliant in these matters until the Fianna Fail party is banned and all members of the previous Government cabinet are sent to prison for treason against the Irish state.

OP may have wanted to ask the installers if there were any jobs going. I merely suggested he get a little exercise and have a lie down in the road.

The lads were working on my street last week. I showed them all the addresses they wanted, as their map didn't have the house names etc etc :P

Great bunch of chaps. It was all done in a couple of days.

Nothing wrong with a spot of protesting of the weather is with you. Avoid Syria and Egypt. Avoid the entire middle east. And Missouri is out as well.
If you arrive early, you can get a good spot near the front.
Make sure and find out which side you're on if its abortion related as things get confusing later.
The Israeli embassy is always a safe bet if you can't think of something to protest about.

Concrete won't but 2.5 metres of rebar reinforced was going to give them a hell of a fright, in the finish they decided not to risk criminal damage to our €9,000 car conveniently parked over said stop valve and rebar reinforced concrete covering.

Yes and most proud to be, my ancestors have for centuries been rebellious in nature and I can trace back rebel ancestors to the battle of Kinsale in 1601, the 1798 United Irish men, IRA flying columns of the War of Independence and I also have relations buried in Milltown Cemetery on Belfast's falls road. I am Irish and a patriot and would die at any moment for what is right. And what is currently happening to people is not right, however people are too greedy and blinded by their wealth and greed and to stand up and do what is right.

The really funny thing about this, and there's a lot of funny there, is that he's still going to be charged for water - it'll just be based on average consumption rates as opposed to actual usage.
